Get to Know 'The Slumber Party' Newcomer Alex Cooper Cohen with 10 Fun Facts (Exclusive)

Alex Cooper Cohen is making her screen debut in the upcoming movie The Slumber Party!

The newcomer will be starring in the Disney movie as Veronica, Anna Maria’s (Valentina Herrera) step-sister-to-be, who walks to the beat of a different drummer.

The Slumber Party depicts the hilarious aftermath of a sleepover birthday party hypnotism gone wrong as best friends Megan and Paige, along with soon-to-be step-sister Veronica, wake up with absolutely no memory of the night before.

Now, they must retrace their steps to find missing birthday girl Anna Maria … and explain why there’s a flock of baby ducks in the bathtub, what happened to Megan’s eyebrow, and why she’s wearing unattainable hottie Jake Ramirez’s signature black hoodie.

Prior to the movie’s premiere on Disney Channel, and before the SAG-AFTRA strike, we caught up with Alex and got to know 10 Fun Facts about her.

1. I mostly have a background in theatre, and my first time ever acting was in my elementary school’s musical version of Ferdinand the Bull, where I played the titular character.
2. I really love slow fashion, like going thrifting and buying clothes secondhand.
3. I have a cat named Table. She was named after a stuffed animal I had as a kid!
4. My dream theatre role is Leaf Coneybear from the musical 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.
5. The best place I have ever visited was Helsinki, Finland. I went there after my Bat Mitzvah, which is a Jewish coming-of-age ceremony. Scandinavia is really nice because nobody really makes small talk and it’s very quiet.
6. If I had to pick another career besides acting, I would probably want to become a neuroscientist.
7. I really love doing creative things, like drawing, sewing, singing, dancing, or even throwing pottery.
8. I am in a band, and I play the keytar, which is a cross between a guitar and a keyboard. You hold it like a guitar, but there are piano keys on the side, like a keyboard.
9. I really really REALLY love playing Dungeons and Dragons. I know, it’s kind of nerdy, but there’s just something about hanging out with your friends while acting as a fantasy character that really floats my boat.
10. I love listening to all kinds of music. Where I live, public transportation is super accessible, so I bring a pair of headphones wherever I go. I currently have a list of almost 700 albums that I would like to listen to (eventually) and am always looking for new ones to add!
