'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem' Is Getting a Sequel & a TV Series

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem hasn’t even been released yet and there is already more is on the way!

Variety reported on Wednesday (July 26) that the upcoming movie has a sequel in development, along with a spinoff series for Paramount+.

Seth Rogen‘s Point Grey Pictures will produce the sequel and the television series, which will reportedly be called Tales of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Point Grey also produced Mutant Mayhem, which was co-written by Seth, who also lends his voice to a character in the pic.

The sequel movie already has a director, Jeff Rowe, who co-wrote and directed Mutant Mayhem.

“In the nearly 40 years since Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles launched into the zeitgeist, it has entertained generations of fans and only continues to grow,” Paramount and Nickelodeon chief Brian Robbins said. “We are excited to grow TMNT’s legacy in partnership with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg at Point Grey, and Jeff Rowe, who are innovating the franchise with their singular brand of humor and elevated storytelling for audiences everywhere, across virtually every platform.”

“Reinvigorating this franchise has been years in the making, and we are thrilled to continue expanding the beloved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles universe and bringing new adventures to families and fans,” Ramsey Naito, president of Paramount Animation & Nickelodeon Animation, added.

The upcoming series, Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, will also be 2D animation and has two seasons already in the works, which will take place in between the two movies. It will premiere on Paramount+. Chris Yost and Alan Wan, who are no strangers to the Ninja Turtles universe, will serve as showrunners and executive producers.

Here’s a synopsis: “The Turtles will be challenged like never before as Leo, Raph, Donnie and Mikey each go it alone for the first time. Faced with new threats and teaming up with old allies, the Turtles will discover who they really are when they don’t have their brothers at their sides.”

Teen stars Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu and Brady Noon, who are the first actual teens voicing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, will reprise their voice roles in the series.
