The iCarly season three finale debuted on Thursday (July 27) on Paramount+!
In the final episode of the season, “iHave a Proposal,” it’s the Wedding of the Century! Mrs. Benson and Lewbert are getting married, but a misunderstanding leads Freddie and Carly to consider their own future together.
While the episode centers on Mrs Benson and Lewbert’s wedding, there’s quite the big ending that no one could have seen coming!

During the episode, Freddie toyed with the idea of proposing to Carly, and marriage freaks her out as she doesn’t want to end up like her mother. She talked to Spencer about it, and he went to Freddie.
When it comes time for the actual wedding between Freddie’s mom and Lewbert, they are no shows, as it’s revealed they went to Vegas to elope like they always wanted.
Millicent exclaims that they can’t let all of this wedding prep go to waste, with Carly and Freddie looking at each other. They get close and weigh the options, noting that they love each other and want to spend the rest of their lives together.
BUT! When it appears they’re about to go ahead with them getting married, Spencer walks up, looks past them and says, “Oh my god.”
Carly looks past Freddie, and echoes, “Oh my god,” with a very surprised and down look on her face. As Freddie turns around, with a quiver in her voice, Carly says, “Mom?”
However, the screen cuts to black and we don’t actually see the mom, leaving us on two big cliffhangers actually – Carly and Freddie almost getting married, and the mystery around Carly and Spencer’s mom.
Their mom is rarely mentioned in the original series nor in the revival series, with her barely getting only a few callouts. We never really knew if she was alive or walked out on their family, or what. Earlier in this episode, Spencer assured Carly that she is nothing like their mom and wouldn’t do what she did to them and abandon them.
