'Davey & Jonesie's Locker' Star Jaelynn Thora Brooks Shares 10 Fun Facts (Exclusive)

Jaelynn Thora Brooks is starring in her first television series!

The young actress will be Jonesie in the new Hulu comedy Davey and Jonesie’s Locker, which debuts on the streamer THIS Friday (March 22).

Here’s a synopsis: Davey and Jonesie are two lovably eccentric best friends who have always felt out of step with their peers and the banal backdrop of their high school existence. So, when they discover their locker is actually a portal to the multiverse, they’re more than ready to escape their teenage prison of mediocrity in favor of new horizons. But the joke is on them when they only end up in bizarre, alternate versions of their high school, surrounded by offbeat versions of their classmates. Fortunately, these audacious and creative besties are ready to make the most of this vacation from reality by leaving their mark on every universe they visit…even if it means choosing interdimensional chaos while they’re at it. Worth it for the vibes.

1. Aldous Harding, Julia Jacklin, Lianne Lahavas, Big Thief, Alice Phoebe Lou, Okay Kaya, Faye Webster, Hayley Heynderickx – LOVE. lovelovelove lovelove. love. oh my goodness.
2. Big fan of bugs. Never kill ‘em. Unless they’re in the shower. Then it’s justified…. But I still feel bad about it.
3. I love to work with kids. The past few years whenever I wasn’t acting I was working with kids. I’ve done it all, Camps, Nannying, Dance/Acting classes.
4. I’m very food motivated – When I’m not on set I cook everyday and I never get tired of it.
5. I love to write. For me, acting feels more like a craft or a skill, whereas writing’s more of a creative outlet. Need both.
6. I was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and lived in Northbay before moving to the GTA area, and feel very confident in saying that I DO NOT HAVE A CANADIAN ACCENT (despite contradictory accusations)
7. I’m fast? Or used to be at least? I played a lot of sports as a kid before I started doing theatre and was painfully mediocre at everything except for Track.
8. Victorious is forever my comfort show. Loved it when I was 12 and love it now. “Freak the Freak Out” will be on my running playlist now and for the rest of time.
9. I’m very lucky to have a huuuuuuuge extended family. Very appreciative for everybody in it. I so love and admire them. They’re all such wonderful pillars of support and inspiration in my life.
10. Every year my new year’s resolution is to answer my texts and i’m still terrible at it (Sorry Nana et al.)
