Aly Raisman shows off her silver medal next to Simone Biles‘ gold one after competing in the Women’s Individual All Around Final at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics on Thursday (August 11) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The 22-year-old gymnast captured the silver medal after missing out on one during the London games four years ago because of a tie with Rio bronze medalist Aliya Mustafina.
“The thing that still lingers in my head is that I almost got that all-around medal,” Aly shared in a recent video interview. “I tied for it and they didn’t give it to me � so I think that’s something that I still think about all the time and I still use that for motivation when I’m really tired and I’m having a rough day.”
So happy for Aly that she won that Silver Medal!

The gymnasts took home the gold and silver medals respectively in the Women’s Individual All Around Final at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics on Thursday (August 11) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The ladies already won the gold medal together in the team final and now have more medals to bring home to the U.S.
Leslie Jones, who just arrived in Rio to do coverage for NBC, was in attendance at the event and posted videos on Twitter from the arena.
Shawn Johnson, Meryl Davis and other Olympians also reacted to their win.

Simone Biles is the All-Around Champion!!!
The 19-year-old powerhouse won the competition with an amazing 62.198 points to her name, with Aly Raisman, 22, scoring 60.098 and grabbing the silver medal during the Women’s Individual All Around Final at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics on Thursday (August 11) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Russia’s Aliya Mustafina earned the bronze medal.

During the competition, Simone and Aly‘s teammates Laurie Hernandez, Madison Kocian and Gabby Douglas were in the stands cheering them both on.

The Brazilian gymnast withdrew from the competition after a scary landing during her floor routine.
During Jade‘s routine hit the floor hard in the middle of her tumbling passes. After wobbling off to the edge, it looked like she might have injured her leg, ankle, or foot. A medical team rushed to her side as she tried to catch her breath.
Just days before, Britain’s Elissa Downie also suffered a fall during her floor routine.

Taylor Swift has been keeping quiet on social media, but she had to make she sent a sweet note to the US Women’s Gymnastics team, who just won gold in the team competition at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics!
The 26-year-old entertainer took some time to write a short note to the “Final Five” – Aly Raisman, Gabby Douglas, Laurie Hernandez, Madison Kocian and Simone Biles.

Aly Raisman gave her gold medal to coach Mihai Brestyan after the US Women’s Gymnastics Team won the gold medal during the team finals at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics earlier this week in Brazil.
The 22-year-old gymnast and team captain, commented on the video that shows her heading to Mihai after the medal ceremony, and wrapping it around his neck before giving him a hug.
“Coaches never get medals. It’s the least I can do after everything!” Aly wrote on Twitter. Watch the video below!

Congrats to Sam Mikulak and Chris Brooks for completing the Men’s All-Around Final during the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics on Wednesday afternoon (August 10) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The two Team USA gymnasts finished in 7th and 14th places respectively, after Japan’s Kohei Uchimura, Ukraine’s Oleg Verniaiev in second and Team GB’s Max Whitlock in third.

The competition was really close, with Sam being only 2.7 points away from 1st place.
“All around finals today, leaving it all out there,” Sam shared on social media ahead of the competition.
