Here’s a synopsis: Antonio LeBlanc (Chon), a Korean adoptee raised in a small town in the Louisiana bayou, is married to the love of his life Kathy (Alicia Vikander) and step-dad to their beloved daughter Jessie. Struggling to make a better life for his family, he must confront the ghosts of his past when he discovers that he could be deported from the only country he has ever called home.

The new clip features the new original song “Lead The Way” by Jhené Aiko, and shows a little backstory on the movie’s title character.
“Lead The Way” will be played during the film’s end credits, and will be featured on the soundtrack, which will be released next Friday (February 26).
Raya and the Last Dragon star Kelly Marie Tran recently opened up about where she recorded the voiceover for the role during the pandemic.
“I recorded in a makeshift fort at my boyfriend’s apartment, which was made of sound blankets taped to the wall with duct tape. Glamorous! I remember there were days when there was construction happening, my internet was cutting out, there was always something going on,” she said on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
The new movie features an all Asian voice cast, which also includes Awkwafina, Ross Butler and more, and will be released in theaters and on Disney+ Premier Access on March 5th.

In the clip, we get a thrilling new look at the upcoming fantasy adventure from Disney.
During the 30 second spot, Raya (voiced by Kelly Marie Tran) gets into action and during one part, goes to swing from a rope with Sisu the dragon (voiced by Awkwafina), but Sisu’s back legs remain planted.
“Oh, we were doing a jumpy thing? So sorry. My bad,” Awkwafina, as Sisu, says in the funny moment.
Raya and the Last Dragon takes us on an exciting, epic journey to the fantasy world of Kumandra, where humans and dragons lived together long ago in harmony. But when an evil force threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity.
Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people. However, along her journey, she’ll learn that it’ll take more than a dragon to save the world—it’s going to take trust and teamwork as well.
Raya and the Last Dragon features an all star voice cast of Asian actors, and will premiere in theaters and on Disney+ Premier Access on March 5th. Premier Access pre-orders are now available!

The live action remake of the movie will feature original music from the animated version from Alan Menken, as well new music by Alan and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
“Halle Bailey is going to be such an incredible Ariel,” Lin-Manueltold ET back in July. “And getting to write music for these characters that are probably the reason I started writing musicals in the first place, it was actually easier than I thought.”
No release date has been set yet, but given that they had to shut down production earlier this year due to Coronavirus, we may not see it until 2022.
