Il Volo are prepping to debut a special edition of their sophomore album, We Are Love on Tuesday, May 28th.
The record feature selections from We Are Love as well as five newly recorded songs including: One Direction‘s “Little Things,” Sarah McLachlan‘s “Angel,” “Surrender (Torna A Sorrento),” “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” and West Side Story‘s “Maria.”
Il Volo takes over the stage at the 2012 Nobel Peace Prize Concert held at Oslo Spektrum on Monday night (December 11) in Oslo, Norway.
The guys — Piero Barone, Gianluca Ginoble and Ignazio Boschetto – also attended the press conference earlier in the day at Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel.
This year’s Nobel Peace Prize Concert honored the European Union (EU) “for having over six decades contributed to the advancement of peace and reconciliation, democracy and human rights in Europe.”
The award is given annually to an individual or organization whose work exemplifies a spirit of hope and leadership that will help promote peace in the world.
Scotty McCreery joins Il Volo at the 2012 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Wednesday night (November 28) in New York City.
“Hope yall enjoyed the @nbc Rockefeller tree lighting show tonight! I had a blast! Definitely a fun way to celebrate a #GOLD Christmas album!” the 19-year-old country singer tweeted.
Il Voloadded, “The tree lighting is been such an amazing experience! It’s great to share this wonderful moment with millions of people! THANK YOU ALL!!”

Il Volo chills out on a couple of steps while performing at the Fillmore on Sunday night (September 16) in Miami Beach, Fla.
The guys — Gianluca Ginoble, Piero Barone and Ignazio Boschetto — recently chatted with Royal Oak’s Daily Tribune about their recent return to Detroit.
“Well, you know, it’s a good memory,” Ignazio shared about their Il Volo Takes Flight – Live From the Detroit Opera House special which is out on DVD now.
He added, “It was big emotion … and a big moment for us because the Detroit Opera House is so charming, and everybody sang there – Charlie Chaplin and Michael Jackson, everyone. When someone told me that I was shocked. Detroit is the town of everyone. And now it’s the town of Il Volo, as well.”
Il Volo take over the stage for a concert held at Sony Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto, Canada on Saturday night (August 25).
The Italian trio — Piero Barone, Gianluca Ginoble and Ignazio Boschetto — recently chatted with Billboard about their upcoming album.
“It’s going to be a surprise, because it’s so (varied),” Ignazio shared. “It has classical moments and pop moments. For the most part it’s new songs.”
But that’s not the only exciting news — Il Volo is also going on tour with Barbra Streisand!
“That for us is very exciting. Our manager is a big fan of hers, so I started to know about her because of him, and then I got many CDs of hers…and I love her. We met her at (the recording session for) ‘We Are the World (25 For Haiti)’ in 2010. She’s nice,” Ignazio added.
Il Volo will perform for six shows with Ms. Streisand.
Il Volo meet up with Pia Toscano at the 2011 Holiday Tree Lighting and Opening Of L.A. Kings Ice at Nokia Plaza L.A. LIVE on Friday night (December 2) in Los Angeles.
The guys — Piero Barone, Gianluca Ginoble, and Ignazio Boschetto – just dropped their new holiday EP which features five holiday songs.
Songs include “Silent Night,” the German version “Stille Nacht,” “Panis Angelicus,” “The Christmas Song” featuring Pia and a medley of classic Christmas songs including “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Let It Snow” and “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.”
Il Volo will also be featured on the Jonathan Ross Christmas Special on ITV1 in the UK. The special will air on Friday, December 23rd.

Tony Reins, Il Volo‘s prodcuer said of their new demographic, “In the beginning all of us thought that because of their kind of music, the audience would be from 35 up. But now we realize that they can conquer the kids. The younger generation all over the world, they’re used to rap. They never had the chance to listen to this kind of music. But now Il Volo is spreading a new kind of feeling. They are conquering every age.”
