Jake Miller is about to blow your mind here.

While talking about his latest album, Silver Lining, with AfterBuzz TV’ I Could Never Be segment, the 25-year-old musician revealed just how much it took him to make the record.

Any guesses? NOTHING! The only thing Jake actually spent money on to make the album was for the artist who designed the album artwork.

“It cost $0 to make this album that I just put out, Silver Lining. It literally cost $0,” Jake shared in the interview. “In terms of the songs, I made them all in my room so $0.”

Just a few years ago, though, that wasn’t the case.

“Back in the day when I would be on like record labels and stuff, I would be put in rooms with some producers and these producers know I’m working with a big company like a record label and so they would charge me $40,000 for a beat,” Jake shares. “And it never came out of my pocket, but can you imagine if I was independent and I had to front that money? So, that’s kinda why I was like, alright, well, now I need to figure out how to make my own beats.”

“It all gets very costly. Obviously, studio time, music videos,” he adds. “I’ve just surrounded myself with a great, a great team. My roommates shoot all my music videos. I make the music. So it’s like, nowadays, I’m kind doing it very on a, on a low budget.”

Jake Miller is wasting no time when it comes to making new music!

The 25-year-old singer just released his latest album Silver Lining a month ago, and is already starting the early stages of his next album.

“I’ve started on some beats for sure. I’ve already contacted the guy who’s making my next album cover,” he said on the Zach Sang Show recently. “I just line my ducks up and then when it’s right I say, ‘okay, it’s time.’”

“Most of the time I make a beat and then I’ll write a song to it. I’ll know right away whether I want to finish it, if it’s worth finishing, or if I want to trash it and then move onto the next one,” he said. “The beat leads the way for sure. Most of the time, 99 percent of the time.”

Since making the move to being an independent artist, Jake sure is working on and releasing as much music as he can.

Jake Miller just debuted a much shorter hairstyle!

The “Think About Us” singer showed off his new look on his Instagram page.

“New hair who dis,” he captioned the photo, where he also wears a pair of glasses.

Jake recently made an appearance on the Zach Sang Show, where he chatted up his new album Silver Lining, crying to John Mayer songs, and more. Be sure to check it out!

The 25-year-old musician chatted with the hosts about his new album Silver Lining and performed live.

Jake recently opened up about what it has been like becoming an independent artist and how it’s changed the way he works in the studio.

“The biggest plus [of being independent] has just been getting my sanity back as an artist, being able to do whatever I want to do,” he told Billboard. “I can confidently say this album is a lot different than 2:00am in LA, and this is my best yet. I think that just comes naturally when I’m living how I’m living these days, with no one holding me back. I’m starting to feel more and more like a true musician.”

Jake Miller is quite possibly making a video for every song on his new album, Silver Lining, and we don’t mind at all!

Earlier this week, the 25-year-old musician debuted the visual for “Think About Us”, which will take you on a reminiscent, psychedelic trip that you won’t want to leave.

And now, he’s headed to Hawaii for the “Drinkin’ About You” video!
