Superman & Lois co-showrunner Todd Helbing is opening up about recasting Jonathan Kent on the The CW series.
Original star Jordan Elsass exited the show back in August 2022 after season two and his character was recast a month later with Michael Bishop taking over the role.
With the third season premiering TONIGHT (March 14), the showrunners are dishing on the recast and if it will be addressed on the show this season.

Superman & Lois has found it’s new Jonathan Kent!
It was just announced that Australian actor Michael Bishop has been cast in the role on the CW series’ upcoming third season, Deadline reveals.
You may recognize Michael from the Disney Channel Original Movie Spin, where he played DJ Max.

Jordan Elsass is speaking out for the first time since his shocking exit from Superman & Lois!
The 20-year-old actor, who has played Jonathan Kent in the first two seasons, won’t be back for season three, as it was revealed last week in a statement from the studio.
Now, Jordan is addressing his exit from the CW series in a new Cameo video.

It was just shockingly revealed that one of the series regulars on The CW series has decided to leave the show.
While this actor has left the show, their character will not be written out and their role will in fact be recast.

Tyler Hoechlin and his TV son Jordan Elsass were seen on the set of Superman & Lois on Wednesday (February 16) in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The co-stars were both in their superhero costumes for filming, as Superman and Superboy, respectively.
This is the first time we’re seeing Jordan as Superboy!

Jenna Dewan is back as Lucy Lane TONIGHT (February 1), but this time on Superman & Lois!
The actress is reprising her role, which she originated in season one of Supergirl, and it’s been almost six years since she’s played her.
“Lucy Lane – then and now! This moment in my career is really special. To be able to play the same character I loved years ago AGAIN, but in a whole new way…Can’t wait to hear what you all think ✨ Tonight on @cwsupermanandlois!” Jenna shared on Instagram.

The season two premiere of Superman & Lois is finally here!
The CW series returns for it’s second season TONIGHT (January 11) and we have all the details on the season premiere episode.
A fun fact to note about the director for the episode, Gregory Smith: he starred in the series Everwood, which was created by Superman & Lois executive producer Greg Berlanti. That show aired for four seasons on The WB, which is what The CW used to be.
