JJJ caught up with Ty to get the scoop on what it was like working with Chris Pratt and Nick Robinson, how he got the role, and more. Check it:
JustJaredJr.com: Tell us about how you got involved with the movie! What was your audition process like?
Ty Simpkins: In 2011, Colin [Trevorrow, director] Skyped me when I was in Tennessee with my sister on a film project she was on. It was the day after the Iron Man 3 premiere, so I was already very excited from that. I remember being excited for that phone call. We were all a bit in shock, but then the project got pushed for like a year I think. I later met Colin in person at the Insidious 2 premiere, which also seemed unreal because the after-party was at Universal Studious and when we met, the Jurassic ride was literally right there. Then all of a sudden I got a call to do a chemistry read with Nick Robinson. We went to the casting house and Nick came in, we went into the room, and acted out some scenes together.
