“I actually would love to talk to Jules [creator Julie Plec],” Ian said. “I would love to go and direct one of [the Legacies episodes]. Because I know Paul [Wesley] went to do it and he called me and he’s like, ‘Bro, this is f–king crazy.’ Because it’s all of our old sets, which is a time warp, 10 years ago. He’s just going, ‘Dude!’ He was actually kind of emotional about it, he goes ‘This is crazy!’”
“We spent eight years on the show, and now it’s two years later, which we’re still talking about it while we’re working on other things,” Ian Somerhalder added. “That’s a decade, 30 to 40. That’s a very substantial piece of your life. But I would actually love to go back and direct one. I love what they are doing. The show looks amazing, it’s all of my old team.”

She did add of where Freya is now: “[Freya] is still happily married with her wife Keelin, and they have a child. Yes, they have a little son named Nik who — I guess you can assume who [he's] named after. The Freelin fans will be very happy.”

Chris Wood is returning to Mystic Falls as Kai Parker in the current second season of Legacies, EWconfirms.
The Supergirl actor first played the role in TVD‘s sixth season, and came back in the eighth and final seasons.
“Miss me? 😈,” he wrote on Twitter after the news was announced.
Showrunner Julie Plec has previously said that it was her goal to have him return for the latest spin-off.
“It’s so rude of me and so presumptuous, but I am just going to keep layering in Kai Parker until Chris Wood feels like he’s got no choice but to come back and play in our sandbox,” she told EW. “I would love nothing more than to see that character again. I think he’d drop perfectly into this story line. I’m going to keep my fingers crossed and hope that I can make that work out one of these days.”
Chris is definitely no stranger to The CW. He’s most recently been on Supergirl alongside his wife Melissa Benoist, The Flash, Containment, and The Carrie Diaries.
In “Since When Do You Speak Japanese?”, when a samurai shows up in Mystic Falls looking for a demon that possesses its victims, Josie (Kaylee Bryant) leads the charge to defend her friends from the demon’s wrath.
Meanwhile, as Landon (Aria Shahghasemi) and Rafael (Peyton Alex Smith) head to Mystic Falls High in hopes of learning more about the mysterious Hope (Danielle Rose Russell), MG (Quincy Fouse) is conflicted by a secret he’s uncovered about Lizzie’s new vampire friend Sebastian.
Finally, just as Alaric (Matthew Davis) lets his guard down around the town’s new sheriff, a confrontation with a demon forces him to reevaluate his priorities.
Legacies airs TONIGHT, November 7th @ 9PM ET/PT on The CW.
“I mean, it’s always flattering to be compared to someone everyone loved in the series and who is a very successful and incredible actor,” Thomas told Seventeen. “I think when I was working for Disney, I kept getting compared to Zac Efron and Troy Bolton and stuff, so that was natural to that.”
“I mean, I try to not let that affect what you’re trying to do for your character,” he continued. “They are completely different characters and he’s also done his fantastically well and you don’t just want to copy that. You want to give the audience something different. Something else that they can either relate to or not relate to. Enjoy or not enjoy. That’s the whole essence of what we do.”
