The Unicorn actress and singer is hoping to encourage people to just be themselves, and not listen to society.
“When I wrote this song, my hope was to inspire and encourage people to be themselves completely, striping away all the expectations of society, all the way down to the raw person they are inside. Allowing yourself to look within and discover your true self,” she shared about the new song on Instagram.
“Sooooo, that being said, here is an unedited phone recording of me singing along to my new song, showing you all the quarantine version of me (ft. my messy bun and non-existent makeup),” Ruby added with a video.
The 16-year-old Unicorn star joined Toy Story 4 actress Ally Maki at The Walt Disney Company’s 2020 Golden Globe Awards Post-Show Celebration to celebrate the kick off of awards season.

Ruby Jay signs up for a music showcase in the season two trailer for Hulu’s Holly Hobbie.
Here’s the official summary: As season two gets underway, Holly’s life begins to get more complicated and so does her music. Holly continues to use her life as a source of inspiration for her songs but this season, for the first time, some people don’t like what she has to say.
When Holly’s attempt to deal with the haters backfires, Holly wonders if some topics are off limits. Like, can she write about her crush on Tyler? Her friends? What about her family? And if she does, can she handle the consequences?
All this second-guessing triggers a serious case of writer’s block and spirals Holly into a big ol’ funk which is further exacerbated when Holly meets another talented musician who isn’t afraid to express himself.
As Holly starts to collaborate with him she finds her voice again – but is she ready to share it with a bigger audience?
Holly Hobbie season two kicks off on Friday, November 22nd on Hulu.
Ruby Jay has just released a brand new song called “Royalty”!
The 15-year-old Unicorn star and singer dropped the song special for her fans after the new episode of the CBS show.
“In the song I say, ‘you may be a drama queen, doesn’t mean I’m gonna treat ya like royalty’,” Ruby explains to JJJ about the track. “The ones who mistreat others and think they are above everything and everyone, need to be put in their place.”
She adds, “In this song, I am telling those who may get picked on, or those who feel mistreated, they don’t have deal with the cruelty anymore. Just because you’re dealing with a drama queen, doesn’t mean you need to treat them like royalty.”
