Serayah‘s cool girl style is all over her next music video, judging by these pics.
The Empire star wore baggy cargo pants with a super cute, cut-out top and her hair up in knots while filming for the visual in West Hollywood, Calif., earlier this week.
“It’s not forced, it feels natural,” Serayah shared with WWD about her upcoming solo music. “It’s very R&B, and I’m discovering how to sing in the genre of music that I love”.
She adds, “Even if it’s not on the popular charts, I feel like it’s music that will be appreciated and will grow on people.”
TELL JJJ: Are you looking forward to Serayah’s original music?
Just last night, Serayah joined Kevin Can Wait star Taylor Spreitler, are also pictured below at the 2016 amfAR GenerationCure Holiday Party in New York City.
If you don’t watch Empire – WHY NOT? — it centers on Empire Entertainment and the family of CEO Lucious Lyon. Serayah plays an up and coming hot singer named Tiana Brown.
Serayah hit the stage with JoJo and Bebe Rexha for what looks like the best and glammest performance ever at VH1′s DIVAs Holiday special.
The three hot singers perform Darlene Love‘s 1993 holiday classic “All Alone on Christmas” for the musical event, airing Monday, December 5th at 9PM ET/PT on the network.
Serayah is super festive while posing with co-star Bryshere “Yazz” Gray on the December/January 2017 cover of Seventeen magazine, on newsstands November 22.
The Empire stars opened up to the glossy about their careers, their relationship, and more. Check it:
Serayah on role models: “You can dream on something, meditate on it, and want it, but what’s equally important is doing all the work you possibly can I always look at Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryantthey were the first ones in the gym and the last ones in the gym. And I just was watching a documentary on Beyonc, where a background singer was saying that Beyonc’s the first and last one in the stadium to rehearse. I thought that was awesome. It’s those moments that count, and that’s why those people are who they are.”
Serayah on overcoming her insecurity: “I hated my hairit always felt poufy and curly and people would poke it and ask, ‘Why is it so big?’ I started dyeing and cutting it and trying to make it as straight as possible. Then I got this role on Empire where I wear my hair big and natural, and I’ve come to realize it’s beautiful.”
Yazz on why he and Serayah aren’t a real-life couple: “She’s a cool girl. She’s very attractive, but we’re just so much friends, like homies.”
