Disney Princess Halle Bailey and Rachel Zegler reflected on their experiences bringing Ariel and Snow White to life while participating in Variety’s Actors on Actors series.
If you forgot, Halle, 23, starred in The Little Mermaid this year. Rachel, 22 will bring Snow White to life in a live action movie next year.
Both casting decisions were met with hate online, a fact that the two women addressed during their conversation.
They explained how they responded, what it was like and what made the hate worth it in the long run.

Rachel Zegler is set to portray Snow White in the live action Disney film, and she revealed that her version of the character is more of a “leader” than the version we’ve seen in the animated classic.
She told Collider, “Then something that kind of emerged was this leader within her that I was so happy that the writers wanted her to be, and the fact that it’s born out of her upbringing, but she finds it within herself throughout the course of the film and throughout the people that love her in the film and show their love for her. Marc Webb and I kind of called it her third eye opening.”

Even though we have to wait an extra year for the new Snow White movie, we’re so excited that we’re finally getting a first look at the film!
Rachel Zegler is starring in the live-action musical remake of the classic Disney movie.
The photo sees Rachel in Snow White’s iconic costume surrounded by all seven of the dwarfs – Dopey, Grumpy, Sneezy, Bashful, Happy, Sleepy and Doc.
The film is directed by Marc Webb, produced by Marc Platt, and features original songs by Oscar, Grammy, and Tony winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.
It was just announced that Disney has pushed the release date of Snow White from March 22, 2024 to March 21, 2025, so we’ll be waiting an entire extra year to see the movie. Some other projects were also just pushed back.

Disney fans will be waiting quite a bit longer to see Rachel Zegler in action as Snow White.
The 22-year-old Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes actress is set to bring the classic Disney princess to life in a new live action adaptation, which follows the entertainment giant’s retelling of The Little Mermaid. The latter was fronted by Halle Bailey.
While the movie was set to premiere on March 22, 2024, Disney has now pushed the movie back by nearly a year.

Rachel Zegler is pulling out photographic evidence that she’s been a Disney Princess for years now amid renewed backlash surrounding her live-action Snow White movie with Disney.
If you missed it, some Disney fans were upset by the diverse casting choices after photos emerged from set that displayed what appeared to be the characters who have previously been referred to as “Dwarfs.”
The pictures reignited a racist backlash against Rachel being cast as the classic Princess. She addressed all of that and thanked her fans for their support with a new post on social media.

Some photos from the set of the upcoming live action Snow White made their way online on Friday (July 14) and there was quite the reaction to them.
While the pics did not feature any stars, including Rachel Zegler, Gal Gadot or Andrew Burnap, they did show a double dressed as Snow White, along with what appears to be her seven “Dwarfs” and a stand in for the male lead.
However, they drew controversy as the seven “Dwarfs” were far from actual actors with Dwarfism, which doesn’t come as a surprise, since Disney has previously stated that they were taking a different approach to those seven characters.

Rachel Zegler‘s upcoming live action Snow White just got a release date!
The 21-year-old actress will be starring as the titular character, alongside Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen.
While they did make an appearance at the 2022 D23 Expo last week, fans only learned that the movie would be out in 2024. Now, we have an exact date!
