In the episode, “Young & Assistant”, Josh (Jonathan Sadowski) is about to launch a new app and hires a new assistant Randall (Charlie Saxton), who is the epitome of efficiency and work ethic, to help him with this busy time. Thinking Randall is a little too good at his job and out to get theirs, Gabi, Elliot and Yolanda set out to get him fired.
Meanwhile, Sofia (Aimee Carrero) is annoyed at her new neighbor (Sulkin) for constantly playing loud music, until she meets him face-to-face…because, how could you stay mad at Gregg?
“Young & Assistant” will premiere on Wednesday, July 6th @ 8PM ET/PT on Freeform.
Emily Osment is clearing up some chatter about the Young & Hungry spin-off that’s being planned.
Speaking with EW after the season four premiere, the 24-year-old actress opened up about the potential spin-off which some fans think will take Sofia (Aimee Carrero) away from the original series.
“I want to clear this up because I’ve gotten so many responses on Twitter and Instagram like, ‘What’s going on? We have no idea! Are you being replaced?’ What’s happening is, we’re doing an episode where Sofia gets a job working for Logan Rawlings, Ashley Tisdale’s character,” Emily explained.
“We’re setting up this other show, where Sofia goes to work for Logan. And if that show goes [forward], that will be a completely separate production. Aimee — if she wants to — can go back and forth between that show and Young and Hungry. But Young and Hungry will remain the same. Young and Hungry won’t be changing at all,” she continued.
Emily added, “I would absolutely hate to see that [their friendship] go — Gabi would be a complete mess without Sofia.”
There’s less than a week away until Gabi, Josh, Sofia, Yolanda and Elliot return to our TV screens and JJJ can hardly wait!
In “Young & Hawaii,” Gabi (Emily Osment) is heartbroken over witnessing Josh (Jonathan Sadowski) with his therapist, but is stuck with him on their plane to Australia. Commiserating with fellow traveler Adam (Tyler Ritter), Gabi accepts his offer to pose as his new wife on his honeymoon to Hawaii, since his actual bride Amanda (Kelen Coleman) dumped him at the altar.
Trying to make Josh and Amanda jealous, Gabi and Adam decide to make the most of their “honeymoon” at a couples-only resort – and post about it on social media.
Meanwhile, Yolanda (Kym Whitley), Elliot (Rex Lee) and Alan (Bryan Safi) have to think fast when they end up at the same resort and the manager assumes they’re a “thrupple” – a three-person couple.
Young & Hungry premieres Wednesday, June 1st @ 8PM ET/PT on Freeform.
Via Deadline, the spin-off series will center on Sofia Rodriguez (Aimee Carrero), an ambitious banking intern and best friend and roommate to Gabi (Emily Osment) who lands a job working for an overbearing boss at Click’d Media, Logan Rawlings (Ashley Tisdale).
Steve will play Kendrick, a super-hot, sexy and masculine journalist with Click’d Media, poached from The New York Times, whom Sofia is immediately intrigued by; while Ryan plays Leo — insecure and brash, energetic with a self-deprecating wit, he is the pop culture editor at Click’d Media and competitive with Kendrick. He immediately spots Sofia as Logan’s next interviewee and is impressed by her easy chutzpah.
Young & Sofia will be introduced in the eighth episode of Young & Hungry‘s current season.
Ashley, who also serves as producer, shared the first look at the set on her Snapchat. Check it out in the gallery below!
When JJJ heard about the Young & Hungryspin-off, we were so excited and now that we have more information on the project, we’re even more excited about it!
Still in development, the new series will focus on Sofia Rodriguez (Aimee Carrero), an ambitious banking intern who lands a job working for an overbearing boss; and Logan Rawlings (Ashley Tisdale), the lesbian magazine editor who appeared on the original series in past seasons (via Deadline).
This doesn’t mean Aimee is leaving Young & Hungry behind though, because she’s not.
“YES!!! Isn’t she so cute?? Can’t imagine doing this with anyone else. Are we like best friends now??” Ashley wrote on Twitter after the news about the show surfaced on the web.
The 27-year-old actress voices the title character in the upcoming Disney Junior series.
In the animated series, which is a spinoff from Sofia The First, centers on Elena, whose journey began long ago when her parents and kingdom were taken from her by the evil sorceress Shuriki.
She bravely faced the sorceress to protect her little sister, Princess Isabel (Jenna Ortega), and grandparents but in the process, her magical amulet pulled her inside its enchanted jewel, saving her life but imprisoning her at the same time.
Decades later, Princess Sofia of Enchancia (Ariel Winter) discovers the truth about the amulet she has worn since joining her royal family and sets out to restore Elena to her human form and help her return to the kingdom of Avalor.
Elena of Avalor will premiere later this year on Disney Junior.
In “Young & The Next Day,” Gabi has headed to the desert on what should be the greatest road trip ever, but she can’t seem to leave her mixed feelings behind. When she hits a bump in the road, Gabi must do what she does best in order to save the trip.
Back in the city, Elliot (Rex Lee) and Alan (Bryan Safi) cut their honeymoon short, forcing Yolanda (Kym Whitley) to step in as marital counselor in hopes of ending the newlyweds’ lovers’ quarrel. Meanwhile, Josh’s chances at love may have just literally passed him by.
