Tom Felton Has Malfoy Family Reunion For 'Harry Potter' Reading!

Tom Felton is the latest to read a chapter from “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s/Sorcerer’s Stone“!

The 32-year-old actor, who of course starred as Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, was joined by his on screen parents, Jason Isaacs and Helen McCrory, to read chapter 14, “Norbert the Norwegian Ridgeback.”

“We have a Malfoy family reunion for Chapter Fourteen! @JasonsFolly, @TomFelton AND Helen McCrory read ‘Norbert the Norwegian Ridgeback’. HarryPotterAtHome,” the Wizarding World shared on Twitter.

“I’ll confess that when I was first asked to play Lucius I hadn’t read any of the books,” Jason said about reading “Harry Potter”. “I was confused why so many of my adult friends – not to mention everyone on the tube – were reading children’s books. I cracked open the first one just to get a flavour and lost myself in a world that, luckily, I’ve never had to leave.”

“Decades later my life is still enriched not just by the intoxicating magic of Jo’s stories and the timelessly human fears and triumphs they bring to life, but by getting to meet and hear from the endless tides of people (and now their kids) whose lives were profoundly affected – sometimes literally saved – by the struggles, love and friendship of Harry, Ron, Hermione and, mostly, obviously, the inspiring and heart-warming heroism of the entire Malfoy family. Or maybe I’m biased…” he added.

Trans Actress Nicole Maines Explains Why She's Still a 'Harry Potter' Fan After JK Rowling's Comments

Trans Actress Nicole Maines Explains Why She's Still a 'Harry Potter' Fan After JK Rowling's Comments

Nicole Maines is speaking out about JK Rowling‘s recent transphobic remarks.

The 22-year-old Supergirl actress and transgender activist opened up about why she remains a fan of Harry Potter, despite the author’s comments.

“What makes all of this so heartbreaking and disappointing is that I was — and still am — a ‘Harry Potter’ fan. I’m a Slytherin through and through. It’s heartbreaking to so many LGBTQ fans of the series. These books have helped so many come out and come to terms with their identities. How many young, queer kids fantasize about coming out of the closet and then learning magic? That’s the best case scenario,” Nicole wrote in a guest column for Variety.

Rowling’s comments speak against the very message of her books — about being stronger together, about inclusion, about self-discovery, bravery and triumph over adversity. It’s contradictory to the world that she created,” she continued. “But I’m still a fan, and I’ll tell you why: because these books and their messages still exist, and whatever views Rowling personally has can’t take that away from us. Nobody can take that away from us, and that world really belongs to the fans now. Nobody can change if these helped you come out. That belongs to you.”

“I think it’s really important to recognize and talk about that, in a time where we are witnessing a historic change in the fight to end oppression against Black lives, she would choose now to attack trans identities and use her massive platform to take away from that discussion. The trans movement and the Black Lives Matter movement share a similar fight in our battles to be safe in our bodies and in our skin, when other people have determined that we are somehow worthy of being treated as less than,” Nicole added.

“It is exhausting to constantly have to try to explain to people, in simpler and simpler terms, that we are just as deserving of human rights, that we’re just as deserving of feeling as safe as they are. And that is what we should be talking about. J.K. Girl. Read the room.”

Daniel Radcliffe Apologizes To 'Harry Potter' Fans For JK Rowling's Transphobic Tweets

Daniel Radcliffe Apologizes To 'Harry Potter' Fans For JK Rowling's Transphobic Tweets

Daniel Radcliffe is apologizing to fans of the beloved Harry Potter series.

The actor, who of course starred as the titular character in the movie adaptations, wrote an open letter to fans and the trans community in response to author JK Rowling‘s recent tweets.

Over the weekend, JK tweeted her frustration after an article wrote that “gender non-binary persons menstruate,” and many fans and even celebs slammed the author for what she said.

Daniel, who has been a longtime supporter of LGBTQ+ organization The Trevor Project, shared his thoughts in a letter he released through their website.

“Transgender women are women. Any statement to the contrary erases the identity and dignity of transgender people and goes against all advice given by professional health care associations who have far more expertise on this subject matter than either Jo or I,” Daniel wrote. “According to The Trevor Project, 78% of transgender and nonbinary youth reported being the subject of discrimination due to their gender identity. It’s clear that we need to do more to support transgender and nonbinary people, not invalidate their identities, and not cause further harm.”

“To all the people who now feel that their experience of the books has been tarnished or diminished, I am deeply sorry for the pain these comments have caused you. I really hope that you don’t entirely lose what was valuable in these stories to you,” he continued. “If these books taught you that love is the strongest force in the universe, capable of overcoming anything; if they taught you that strength is found in diversity, and that dogmatic ideas of pureness lead to the oppression of vulnerable groups; if you believe that a particular character is trans, nonbinary, or gender fluid, or that they are gay or bisexual; if you found anything in these stories that resonated with you and helped you at any time in your life — then that is between you and the book that you read, and it is sacred. And in my opinion nobody can touch that.”

JK Rowling Announces Pandemic Donation on Battle of Hogwarts Anniversary

JK Rowling Announces Pandemic Donation on Battle of Hogwarts Anniversary

JK Rowling is making a big donation to those being affected by the pandemic.

The Harry Potter author announced a £1 million donation, split between two different organizations.

JK felt uncomfortable celebrating the anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts, which took place in the final Harry Potter movie, Deathly Hallows Part II.

“Today’s the 22nd anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts, but I’m going to be honest and say that it feels inappropriate to talk about fictional deaths today. Too many people are losing loved ones in the real world,” she wrote on Twitter.

“So on this anniversary of a great wizarding victory, I’m thinking of the people who’re out there doing their jobs to protect us and our way of life. I have 3 key workers in my immediate family, and like all such relatives, I’m torn between pride and anxiety,” JK added.

“As ever in a crisis of this sort, the poorest and most vulnerable are hit hardest, so in honour of the Battle of Hogwarts, I’ll be making a donation of £1m, half of which will go to https://crisis.org.uk, who’re helping the homeless during the pandemic,” she continued. “and half of which will go to https://refuge.org.uk, because we know that domestic abuse has, sadly, increased hugely during the lockdown.”
