Jared Padelecki & Jensen Ackles Start Filming 'The End' of 'Supernatural'

The stars of Supernatural have started filming the series finale!

Cast and crew got back to work on the final episodes of the long-running series just over a week ago.

Now, stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles have shared notes on starting the last episode.

“As I head out to the first day on my LAST season finale, I can’t help but be incredibly grateful for all that #Supernatural and the #SPNFamily mean to me. It’s been an incredible journey, to say the least. I, for one, am hoping that #SupernaturalNeverDies,” Jared wrote along with a selfie on Instagram.

“It’s gonna be a rough 2 weeks. @cw_supernatural #seriesfinale,” Jensen captioned a video on his account, to which co-star Misha Collins commented, “Don’t make me cry. Again.”

“So last night, we completed 326 episodes of Supernatural. At the very end of every one of those scripts are three words: ‘To be continued,’” Jensen says in his video.

“Today, we start episode 327, and at the very bottom of the very last page of this script, there are only two words,” he says before holding up the script that reads, “The end.”

“Happy Friday everybody,” Jensen emotionally added.

The final episodes of Supernatural will premiere on Thursday, October 8th.

Jensen Ackles To Reunite With 'Supernatural' Creator Eric Kripke For 'The Boys' Season 3

Jensen Ackles has landed his first post-Supernatural role!

The 42-year-old actor will join the cast of Prime Video’s The Boys for the third season.

“I keep wondering what I’ll do….when @cw_supernatural finally ends this year. Then it hit me. *volume ⬆️,” he captioned a video on Instagram. Check it out below!

Jensen will play “Soldier Boy aka the original superhero in the streaming drama. After Soldier Boy fought in World War II, he became the first super celebrity and a mainstay of American culture for decades,” Variety reports.

This will be Jensen‘s first project after the end of Supernatural, which will premiere it’s final episodes starting this October.

He will reunite with Supernatural‘s creator Eric Kripke, who also co-created The Boys.

“When I was a child, I had a crazy, impossible dream — to provide Jensen Ackles with gainful employment,” Eric said in a statement. “I’m happy to say that dream has come true. Jensen is an amazing actor, an even better person, smells like warm chocolate chip cookies, and I consider him a brother. As Soldier Boy, the very first superhero, he’ll bring so much humor, pathos, and danger to the role. I can’t wait to be on set with him again, and bring a bit of Supernatural to The Boys.”

Jensen Ackles Not Only Acts, But Sings & Directs Tonight's 'Supernatural'!

Jensen Ackles is putting on a lot of hats for tonight’s all new episode of Supernatural!

The 41-year-old actor is directing the episode, acting in it, and he has an original song, “Sounds of Someday”, being featured.

In “Atomic Monsters”, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean investigate the mysterious death of a girl and the disappearance of another.

Jensen recently opened up about stepping behind the camera for one final time on the show.

“It was a little bit like the first time I did it just — just a little hesitant on a few things — but really, once I started rolling it was like riding a bike,” he told Variety. “We’ve got such a solid crew up here, from all the department heads all the way down. And this is not a crew that wants people to fail, and they certainly don’t want me to fail — or at least they put on that hat. So to be honest, you just have to do the work: You’ve got to put in the hours and make a lot of decisions, answer a lot of questions and then just hope that you’ve created a detailed enough roadmap than when you get on set you can navigate everything really easily. That’s what we did.”
