The Driver Era Dish On New Song 'Places'

The Driver Era just released their new song “Places” on Friday (August 7)!

Ross and Rocky Lynch‘s new track is their fourth song since the beginning of quarantine.

The guys recently opened up about “Places” and about how the pandemic has been for their creativity.

“The song was written before COVID, but that seems to keep happening where we write a song and it somehow finds relevance with what’s happening in the world at the time of its release,” they told VMAN about the new song. “For example, we released a song called ‘OMG Plz Don’t Come Around‘ right when the US was shutting down.”

“It’s been back and forth. The way our lives are and what’s happening around us definitely affects the music – but I do like hiding in the studio a lot. COVID has given me plenty of opportunities to do that,” the brothers said about the pandemic.

Ross Lynch Reveals Which 'CAOS' Co-Star He'd Want to Collaborate With

Ross Lynch is spilling on which of his Chilling Adventures of Sabrina co-stars he’d love to collaborate with!

The actor opened up during a new interview for A Book Of magazine’s first anniversary special, alongside his brother and The Driver Era bandmate Rocky Lynch.

“Honestly if we were going to collaborate with anybody, it’d probably be one of my castmates, Jasmine Sinclair,” Ross said about his real-life girlfriend. “Just because of the relationship that already exists. That, to us, is more important than the success of somebody. But with that being said, we would be so down to collaborate with pretty much anybody you know.”

On the current direction of The Driver Era, Rocky added, “We’re going with this new album and we’ve been liking this whole feeling that comes when you don’t have a bunch of writers and you don’t have a bunch of producers working on songs. You get the most honest form of music when it’s one person or two people creating. And that’s the case with this album – we’re writing and producing the whole thing. There’s no other people bringing as much of their influence and their energy onto the songs, it’s literally just us.”

The Driver Era have not one, but TWO new songs out!

The brother duo – Ross and Rocky Lynch – dropped “OMG Plz Don’t Come Around” and “flashdrive”.

While the songs were released amid the global health crisis, the title of the first one was entirely not on purpose.

“It’s actually hilarious that the first song is called ‘OMG PLZ DONT COME AROUND’. That was not on purpose… the song has nothing to do with the coronavirus. Stay isolated friends,” Ross shared on Instagram.

Also due to the pandemic, The Driver Era was forced to cancel their upcoming world tour.
