Yara Shahidi's New Series 'College-ish' Will Be Crossing Over with 'Black-ish'

Yara Shahidi will be hopping back and forth between two networks this fall for black-ish and college-ish.

Showrunner Kenya Barris dished in a new interview that both Zoe and her parents – Dre (Anthony Anderson) and Bow (Tracee Ellis Ross) – will appear on both shows throughout the season.

“[Zoey]‘s gonna start off on Black-ish, and then she will go to her show, and then she will be back and forth, and there will be some back-and-forth on [Bow and Dre's] part, too,” he shared. “It’s just like any kid where they’re going to school in town.”

The series is described as a contemporary take on the current issues facing students and administrators in the world of higher education.

Deon Cole, who plays Charlie, will also float between the two shows.

Shooting on the series is expected to kick off in just a few weeks.

“I’m super excited about it,” Kenya added. “I think Yara on her own is a dynamo.”
