'Dune' Sequel Gets the Greenlight, To Premiere in 2023
It’s official! A sequel for the new movie Dune is in the works!
The film was just released in theaters and on HBO Max last Friday (October 22), and there was talk of a potential second movie prior to it’s release.

“This is only the beginning…” production company Legendary tweeted. “Thank you to those who have experienced @dunemovie so far, and those who are going in the days and weeks ahead. We’re excited to continue the journey!”
Dune: Part Two is being given an October 2023 theatrical window, according to Deadline.
Zendaya had a fairly small role in the first Dune movie and she could be getting a massive bump in screen time for the sequel.
“I can’t wait to shoot the second part of Dune to get [Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya] back together. Knowing that in the next chapter Zendaya will be [a major part] of the story,” director Denis Villeneuve told Il Venerdì di Repubblica earlier this year.
