Austin Butler Reveals He Almost Quit Acting To Do This

Can you imagine a world where Austin Butler wasn’t an actor?!

The 30-year-old has had quite the career over the past 15 years, with several TV and movie roles.

Some of his television credits include Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide, Zoey 101, Ruby & The Rockits, The Carrie Diaries, Life Unexpected and Switched at Birth.

On the movie side, Austin has starred in Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure, The Bling Ring, The Intruders, The Dead Don’t Die and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Next, Austin has one of his biggest roles yet, the titular role in the upcoming Elvis Presley biopic, but, he just revealed he almost quit acting years ago.

“I was sort of embarrassed about some of the things that I had to do,” he told Vogue. “But I had to cut my teeth somewhere, so I decided to treat each one of these jobs as a way to grow.”

Then Austin shared he almost quit acting to become a director, but then he booked roles in The Dead Don’t Die and Once Upon a Time In Hollywood.

“It felt like the stars were aligning,” he shared. “I just said, ‘I’m going to dedicate everything I have to this.’”
