KJ Apa & Isabel May's 'Wonder Twins' DC Movie Is No Longer Happening

About a month ago it was announced that KJ Apa and Isabel May would be playing DC’s Wonder Twins, but now that’s no longer the case.

Variety reports that the movie, which was set for HBO Max, has now been scrapped amid the Warner Bros/Discovery merger.

With the merger of the two companies, CEO David Zaslav had pledged to cut approximately $3 billion in costs, and this movie was one of the casualties.

According to Variety, the budget for the project was reportedly at $75 million.

Black Adam‘s Adam Sztykiel was set to write and direct.

Warner Bros Discovery is also looking to overhaul the DC Entertainment operations of the company, “toying with the idea of turning DC into its own solidified content vertical,” according to sources.

Coming up for DC though is the upcoming DC League of Super-Pets, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Batgirl, The Flash, Black Adam, Shazam: Fury of the Gods and Blue Beetle.
