Brec Bassinger Reveals They Did This with 'DC's Stargirl' In the Event of a Possible Cancelation

Brec Bassinger has revealed that the DC’s Stargirl showrunner, along with the cast and crew, prepared for the possibility of their show being canceled.

Earlier this week, it was announced that the CW show would be ending with it’s current third season.

With the unknown future of many of the shows on the network amid it’s sale to new owner Nexstar, a lot of showrunners were given a heads up by former network president Mark Pedowitz and were able to give their shows more of a proper ending, instead of leaving off on a cliffhanger.

In a recent post on the Stargirl cancelation, Brec revealed that showrunner Geoff Johns made sure to prepare two possible outcomes.

“PS With the unknown future, Geoff wanted to protect the end of our show and shot two endings. So please, if you have watched Stargirl, don’t let this deviate you from continuing – some of the best stuff has yet to come… Xo,” Brec ended her post.

She also celebrated how thankful she is for being on the show and thanked all those who supported it.

“Trying to put into words how grateful I am for Stargirl seems impossible. I feel so much right now, but more than anything, I feel gratitude. Gratitude for Atlanta, the crazy night shoots, the insanely tight supersuit, the hair and makeup conversations, the best showrunner in the world, the hardest working crew, the PEOPLE. Even though we might not be going back to set, I know I have found a family within the cast and crew that will last forever,” Brec wrote.

She continued, “Thank you to every single indiviual that has supported our show. It means the world to me. Stargirl believes in destiny, so as I sit here, I have to fall back on that. Everything happens for a reason and I am so grateful for every moment. 💛💫”

Though DC’s Stargirl is coming to an end Brec will be seen on another DC show as Stargirl.
