The Super Mario Bros Movie is in theaters now and it’s already projected to reach over $100 million in box office sales in it’s first few days!

The new animated feature from Nintendo and Illumination is, of course, based on the popular video game characters, taking fans to a vibrant universe in an action-packed new comedy film.

Here’s a synopsis: While working underground to fix a water main, Brooklyn plumbers Mario (Chris Pratt) and brother Luigi (Charlie Day) are transported down a mysterious pipe and wander into a magical new world. But when the brothers are separated, Mario embarks on an epic quest to find Luigi.

With the assistance of a Mushroom Kingdom resident Toad (Keegan-Michael Key) and some training from the strong-willed ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom, Princess Peach (Anya Taylor-Joy), Mario taps into his own power.

Now that the movie is here, you may be wondering if you can leave as soon as the credits start or if you should maybe stick around, and we have the answer to that!

Is there an end credits scene for The Super Mario Bros Movie?

YES! There are actually multiple end credits scenes, so don’t leave your seat!

VIDEO: Watch the Super Mario Bros Movie trailer here!

The first end credits scene happens during the credits. While Bowser (Jack Black) is playing the piano and singing about Princess Peach, the Mushroom Guard intervenes and orders him to halt. However, as the camera pans out, we discover that Bowser is trapped inside a cage and still miniature in size.

After the credits are done rolling, the second scene is shown. As the camera glides through the network of pipes in Brooklyn, it comes to rest on a white egg adorned with green spots, which then begins to fracture. The scene then fades to black, accompanied by the exclamation “Yoshi!” resounding in the background.

This ending allows for the possibility of a sequel, and with the box office projections, it’s highly likely we’ll get a second movie!
