Nicholas Galitzine & Taylor Zakhar Perez Talk Filming Intimate Scenes for 'Red, White & Royal Blue'

Nicholas Galitzine and Taylor Zakhar Perez are opening up about their upcoming new movie Red, White and Royal Blue!

The two actors are starring as Prince Henry and Alex Claremont-Diaz, respectively, in the Prime Video adaptation of the book of the same name by Casey McQuiston.

In a new interview with GQ, they dished on what it was like filming intimate scenes with each other.

While filming, they noted that they would whisper jokes to try and make each other laugh.

“There’s so much choreography to sex…ual scenes,” Taylor said.

“Our guards were down during the rehearsals,” he added. Once someone would yell “Cut!”, “One of us would say something stupid, like, ‘Get off me!’”

“It’s a crazy thing to be intimate in that way with your friend,” Nicholas noted. “And we want people to fall in love with these characters, because their love has to be real.”

They of course had an intimacy coordinator on set to help with and oversee those scenes.

“There’s a playful teasing that never veered into anything nasty, which was a lovely dynamic to be a part of,” Robbie Taylor Hunt, the movie’s intimacy coordinator, shared. “But also they just treated each other like colleagues and co-creatives in a really nice, collaborative way.”
