Lana Condor Reacts to Making DreamWorks Animation History with New Movie 'Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken'

Lana Condor is about to make history with her new movie Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken!

The 26-year-old To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before actress stars as the voice of the title character Ruby Gillman.

If you didn’t know, Ruby is the first female title character in a DreamWorks Animation movie – hence, Lana making history!

DreamWorks movies with title characters include Shrek, The Prince of Egypt, Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, Megamind and Puss in Boots, among others.

In a new featurette for Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken, Lana reacted to the fact that she is the first female title character.

“I just found out that I’m gonna play the first female title character in a DreamWorks animation,” Lana says at one point. “So it feels really cool!”

Previously, the actress has expressed her excitement for this dream role coming true.

“It has been my dream since I was a child to voice a character in a @dreamworks animation… and I finally get to share with you all one of the most joyous experience of my career, voicing Ruby Gillman in : Ruby Gillman @teenagekrakenmovie 🌊 🥹!” she shared on Instagram earlier this year, along with the first trailer.
