Ariana Greenblatt Makes 'Ahsoka' Debut & Makes History for 'Star Wars'!

Ariana Greenblatt has joined another major franchise with Disney!

The 16-year-old actress made her debut in the Star Wars series Ahsoka on Disney+ week, and with doing so, she marked a historical feat within the universe.

Ariana appeared in “Part Five: Shadow Warrior”, where Ahsoka (Rosario Dawson) confronts her past, while Hera (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and her allies undertake a rescue mission.

In the episode, Ariana portrays a younger Padawan Ahsoka, but still with the mind of the older version, in not one but two flashbacks alongside Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker. Both flashbacks featured are also from Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

This is the FIRST time that another actor has portrayed a young version of a Star Wars character in live action that first appeared in animation. Padawan Ahsoka first appeared in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, followed by Star Wars Rebels.

Since the actress is not really allowed to talk about or promote the project due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, she subtly nodded to her role on social media.

On Instagram, she simply uploaded an orange square to her grid, which left many confused and others flocked to the comments to praise her work in the show and tell others what was going on.

On Twitter/X, Ariana posted on Tuesday, September 12th, the day the episode premiered, “how’s everyone feeling, what’d I miss?” She also replied to tweets, or X posts, with orange hearts and thank you messages.

“thank you so much, it took an incredible village and I was supported by the best in the universe. ill be able to share more once the unpleasantness is over, until then⚔️” she replied to one post.

Her Barbie co-star Simu Liu also took to Twitter/X to praise not only her performance but also his former Kim’s Convenience TV dad Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, who stars in the Star Wars franchise as Captain Carson Teva.

“damn i got so excited to see my friends that i forgot about the thing,” Simu wrote. “seeing my friends in a thing adds so many layers of joy to an experience that has already been just sublime as a lifelong fan of that thing. @ArianaG @bitterasiandude you guys ROCK”

Ariana responded, “ahhhh thank you Simu⚔️🧡🫶”

Ariana has now been a part of three MAJOR projects/franchises – Avengers: Infinity War and Barbie, both of which passed $1 billion at the box office, and now Star Wars. She also has the upcoming Borderlands movie adaptation!
