Disney is making another Descendants movie and it’s on the way for Disney Channel and Disney+!
The upcoming fourth movie in the franchise, previously called The Pocketwatch, is officially titled Descendants: The Rise of Red, and focuses on a new set of young characters in the fairytale world.
In this music and dance-filled movie, we find polar opposites Red and Chloe crossing paths at a momentous celebration in Auradon when unexpected chaos breaks out. In order to prevent an impending coup, they must join forces to travel back in time, via a magical pocket watch created by the Mad Hatter’s son, to stop an event that would lead to grave consequences.
Filming for the musical took place in Atlanta earlier this year, and features many familiar faces from the Disney family, and even sees a couple of stars reprising their roles from over 15 years ago.
Jennifer Phang is directing and co-executive producing, with a script by Dan Frey and Russell Sommer. Production designer on all three OG movies, Mark Hofeling, returns to the franchise, with Suzanne Todd and former Disney Channel President Gary Marsh executive producing.
