'Wizards of Waverly Place' Sequel Officially Ordered to Series at Disney Channel, More Details Revealed!

David Henrie and Selena Gomez are officially returning to Disney Channel!

It was just announced that the Wizards of Waverly Place sequel has been picked up to series at the network, following a pilot order earlier this year.

The on-screen brother and sister will executive produce, while David will star as a series regular, and Selena will serve as a guest star in the premiere episode.

In the upcoming new series, we’ll see an adult Justin Russo (Henrie), who has chosen to lead a normal, mortal life with his family, Giada, Roman and Milo. When Justin’s sister Alex (Gomez) brings Billie to his home seeking help, Justin realizes he must dust off his magical skills to mentor the wizard-in-training while also juggling his everyday responsibilities — and safeguarding the future of the Wizard World.

Joining the series are Max Matenko as Justin’s youngest son Milo, as well as previously announced Janice LeAnn Brown in the lead role as young, powerful wizard Billie; Alkaio Thiele as Justin’s oldest son, Roman; and Mimi Gianopulos as Justin’s wife, Giada. All will serve as series regulars.

Production on the new show, tentatively titled Wizards, will begin next month in Los Angeles and premiere later this year on Disney Channel and Disney+!
