What's Next for Stefan & Caroline in 'The Vampire Diaries' Season 8?

We totally gasped when Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice King) kissed in The Vampire Diaries finale!

Does this mean they are back together for good? Executive producer Julie Plec is dishing the goods!

“I always say that the saddest and truest rule of television is that there’s no drama in happy,” Julie told TVLine.com. “But there’s also the exception to that rule, which is that sometimes happiness is as comforting as soup when you’re sick. I’d really like to see Caroline and Stefan enjoy some of that comfort for as long as we can eek it out, before they have to stumble across another obstacle.”

She added, “Stefan’s really going to need her. He’s very determined to get Damon (Ian Somerhalder) back on track, and it’s not going to be an easy task. He’s going to need someone there for moral support.”

As for Alaric (Matt Davis) and the twins, Julie said, “Alaric made a beautiful statement, saying, ‘We are family, and we will always be family.’ He believes that in his heart, and that’s what she needed to hear. I fundamentally believe that they’ll be able to keep their unconventional family together and to stay strong for the girls and for each other.”

Will 'The Vampire Diaries' Return for Season 8? EP Julie Plec Weighs In!

Will 'The Vampire Diaries' Return for Season 8? EP Julie Plec Weighs In!

While executive producer Julie Plec dropped a huge #Klaroline bomb in her EW blog this week, she also weighed in on the future of The Vampire Diaries.

Will the show be picked up for an eighth season, even after it was moved to Friday nights?

“Well I sure hope so!” Julie wrote. “I know we have a very large crew and cast of people who really want to be doing what we love on this show next year, so keep your fingers crossed.”

And what if it doesn’t come back? Does that mean the end of The Originals too?

“No, it won’t,” Julie said, “The Originals are here to stay as long as you’ll have us. Also, if and when TVD ends, it would be fun to see some of our favorites from Mystic Falls find their way to NOLA.”

Chris Wood Brings 'Containment' to TCA Winter Tour 2016

Chris Wood Brings 'Containment' to TCA Winter Tour 2016

Chris Wood and David Gyasi sit side-by-side during the Containment panel held during the 2016 Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour at the Langham Hotel on Sunday (January 10) in Pasadena, Calif.

The guys were also joined on stage by their co-stars Christna Moses, Hanna Mangan Lawrence, Kristen Gutoskie, Claudia Black, and George Young, as well as EP Julie Plec.

“There’s a lot of finger-pointing that starts happening about where it came from and why it has arrived,” Chris said about the show (via TV Guide). “It’s not just that someone points a finger, but there are voices of reason on the show. If anything, there are more people asking the questions and trying to solve the puzzle of why and how is this here.”

'The Vampire Diaries' Will End When Ian Somerhalder & Paul Wesley Want it to End

'The Vampire Diaries' Will End When Ian Somerhalder & Paul Wesley Want it to End

The end of The Vampire Diaries may be on the horizon, but we won’t know just yet.

Executive producer Julie Plec opens up about the end of the show in a new interview, confirming that the CW series will come to a conclusion when stars Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley are ready.

“I finally realized that my destiny on this show, creatively, is tied in to Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley,” Julie told E! News. “And I mean that in a really good way. As long as those boys who I now consider my friends want to keep telling the story, then I won’t walk away from telling the story.”

She cotninued, “When they are ready to be done telling the story, I will put my pencil down and say that I’m done too, and then we will work together to end it in the best way possible. There’s always things that could go wrong in that scenario, there’s always pressure that can be put on, but…the three of us I’d like to think will make the creative decision of when the show should be over.”

Stefan & Klaus to Reunite in Upcoming 'Vampire Diaries' & 'Originals' Crossover - Get the Details!

Stefan & Klaus to Reunite in Upcoming 'Vampire Diaries' & 'Originals' Crossover - Get the Details!

The CW has confirmed another crossover episode between The Vampire Diaries and The Originals!

“I’ve wanted to do this for a really long time and find a way to do it that didn’t feel like we were jamming story for the sake of cross-pollinating the shows,” EP Julie Plec told Variety.

It sounds like we’ll finally seen a reunion between former-besties-but-mostly-enemies Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan)!

“So we’re sitting in the room, and the plot point is that Stefan is in trouble and he’s being pursued by means of magic so how can we get him safe? Well, let’s get him to a place where there’s no magic. And I was like, ‘Oh sh-t! St. James Infirmary!” Julie explained. “There’s a place where there’s no magic that can work in New Orleans!’ And the whole writer’s room just went, ‘Yay! Finally!’ because they’ve been waiting so long for that opportunity.”

The crossover will span over two episodes, one for each of the shows.

“Stefan will go to New Orleans in a Vampire Diaries episode and then he will remain in New Orleans in The Originals to help Klaus deal with a problem that is super specific to Stefan’s survival.”

Oh, and what about Klaus finding out that Stefan is dating Caroline (Candice King)?!

“There is a presence of Caroline buried within that, but I can’t really say in what context,” Julie said.

Julie Plec Lays Down Cyberbullying Realness After CW Actress Is Targeted

Julie Plec Lays Down Cyberbullying Realness After CW Actress Is Targeted

Julie Plec isn’t having any of this cyberbullying anymore — and JJJ totally agrees with her!

The Vampire Diaries and The Originals executive producer took to Twitter to tackle the issue after one of the stars on her shows was the target of some disgusting bullying from fans of the series.

“Today, when I tweeted about an actress on my show getting bullied on Twitter, some people responded with outrage and solidarity and support. Thank you. You are good, normal, functional and kind people. Others responded with: people are mean on the Internet. She should get the fuck over it and stop whining and looking for attention,” Julie wrote.

She added, “To those people, I say YOU are all that is wrong with the world. You represent Hate. Anger. Intolerance and Cruelty. You are the opposite of all that I wish the world could be. So no more of you. Today I celebrate those who represent themselves on soc. media in a way that reflects the part of us who want to be good. The real world is hard enough. Don’t be the problem. Be the change.”

“I just read a series of tweets directed at an actress that are so reprehensible I want to cry, then vomit, then cry some more. I repeat: this is not okay. Shipping and fandoms are supposed to be about celebrating what you love. Not trying to destroy each other. This isn’t about who likes what, wants what, hates what. This is about basic human decency. Some of you should be ashamed of yourselves. The rest of you, please continue to be beautiful. The Internet needs you,” Julie concluded.
