Lana Condor Opens Up About Jordan Fisher Joining 'TATBILB' Sequel & The 'Cinderella' Moment in The Film

Lana Condor is talking all about the upcoming To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before sequel in the January 2020 issue of Teen Vogue.

Chatting with the magazine, the 22-year-old actress spoke candidly about bringing in Jordan Fisher for the role of John Ambrose McLaren.

Lana says she knew instantly that Jordan was perfect for the role, despite uproar in recasting the part.

“Would I prefer it to be someone that’s a person of color? Yes, for my own… call it selfish reasons that I would like our diverse film to be even more diverse. I actually don’t think that’s selfish; I just think that’s right,” Lana says about the recasting. “But I also wasn’t, ‘I’m only going to read with people of color or no one at all.’ I just really wanted the world to see a world of To All the Boys that looks like the one that you see every day.”

She also opened up about having her own Cinderella moment in the upcoming sequel.

“I’ve never had a Cinderella moment nor have I seen, besides I think Crazy Rich Asians, an Asian Cinderella moment, where she’s walking down the stairs, and it’s beautiful, and you’re like, ‘Holy crap,’” she recalls, speaking of the scene that’s briefly seen in the trailer for the Netflix movie. “I was standing on top of the stairs, and I was so emotional.”

Lana adds of the movie, “I feel proud to use my voice and continue to tell people that the Asian-American experience is not one experience alone. It’s something that I don’t plan on ever stopping. Making TV and movies is awesome, but if you have a purpose behind it, it’s even better.”

Candice Patton Talks About Getting The Role of The Flash's Iris West: 'It Felt Surreal'

Candice Patton Talks About Getting The Role of The Flash's Iris West: 'It Felt Surreal'

Candice Patton absolutely stuns in her new cover story for Grumpy magazine.

The 31-year-old Flash actress is talking all about the moment the role of Iris West came to her, rejection, and much more. Check it:

On landing the role of Iris West on The Flash: “I remember the email [my manager] said, ‘this one is yours, you’re perfect for it.’ It didn’t seem like it was thrown my way. I got home for Christmas in Texas, [and] I really thought it was dead in the water for me. I came back in the new year and they wanted me to come back in. Within two days, I had the job, and it felt surreal.”

On using her platform for good: “I do think it’s important if you have means, whether that’s money of a platform, to do something with it. I have a little bit of that so it’s my honor to find things and projects that I’m passionate about, and to use whatever I have to help those projects. [With Shethority], There is so much negativity online and I know women and girls are constantly dealing with so much standards of beauty that are absolutely insane. We wanted to create a space for our fans to feel empowered and recognized and to give them a voice.”

On dealing with rejection: “I worked on having a thick skin, being comfortable hearing the word ‘no’ and just continuing to work. The jobs will come if you constantly focus on getting better and doing better.”

Selena Gomez & Taylor Swift Gush About Their Friendship in Candid Interview

Selena Gomez & Taylor Swift Gush About Their Friendship in Candid Interview

Selena Gomez is on the cover of WSJ. Magazine’s February Talents and Legends Issue out on newsstands Saturday, January 18.

The 27-year-old singer and actress spoke about her friendship with Taylor Swift, among other topics. See what she had to share…

Taylor on her friendship with Selena: “I knew from when I met her I would always have her back. In my life, I have the ability to forgive people who have hurt me. But I don’t know if I can forgive someone who hurts her.”

Selena on her friendship with Taylor: “We clicked instantly and, man, that was my girl. We both went through s— at the same time. She taught me a lot about how I should be treated at a young age. There’s so much of my friendship with Taylor that people don’t know about because we don’t necessarily feel the need to post about everything we do. She has showed up for me in ways that I would have never expected. Flown in because I was hurt and was going through something. Stuff that was going on with my family. It’s been proven year after year and in every moment of my life that she is one of my best friends in the world. We don’t agree on everything, but we respect each other with everything.”

On mental illness: “I feel like I was supposed to go through everything I’ve gone through. I had low self-esteem, and that’s something I work on continuously. But I feel so empowered because I’ve gained so much knowledge about what was going on mentally. My highs were really high, and my lows would take me out for weeks at a time. I found out I do suffer from mental health issues. And, honestly, that was such a relief. I realized that there was a way to get help and to find people that you trust. I got on the right medication, and my life has been completely changed.”

Emma Chamberlain Covers Cosmopolitan's February Issue For First US Magazine Cover

Emma Chamberlain Covers Cosmopolitan's February Issue For First US Magazine Cover

Emma Chamberlain looks amazing while standing on a table on the cover of Cosmopolitan‘s February 2020 issue, on newsstands January 14th!

This is the very first magazine cover in the US for the 18-year-old YouTube star. She opened up about Photoshop, body dysmorphia and more. Check it out:

On the term ‘influencer’: “I think the word ‘influencer’ is kind of disgusting…Let’s use me as an example: If someone is calling me an influencer, they’re saying that my job is to influence, and I don’t think that’s true. I prefer to entertain and be a friend. I don’t want to influence.”

On advertising weight-loss products: “Like, your grind is your grind, and I’m not going to get in the way of that. I just think that growing up on social media gave me eating issues as a kid. I literally have struggled with that my whole life. Almost every person I’ve met has had some form of an eating disorder. I mean, I’ve had…I don’t want to trigger anyone, but so many.”

On body dysmorphia: “I’ve been fully not at a healthy weight and I thought I was obese multiple times. It’s awful. My whole family was telling me I looked terrible. They were like, ‘You look like you’re dying.’ I was like, ‘I think I look great.’”

On photo manipulation software: “I refuse to do that because nobody needs to think I look like that. I look the way I look.”

Vanessa Hudgens Reveals the 'High School Musical' Prop She Still Has!

Vanessa Hudgens Reveals the 'High School Musical' Prop She Still Has!

Vanessa Hudgens still has a prop from the set of High School Musical and she thinks it’s time to let it go!

The 31-year-old actress opened up in her cover story for Cosmopolitan UK‘s February 2020 issue, which is on sale now.

Vanessa said she still has the T necklace Zac Effron’s character Troy gave her character Gabriellia in the first movie. She says, “I feel like I need to sell it for charity because it’s literally sitting in a little bag rusting!”

Here’s what else Vanessa shared with the mag:

On dealing with criticism: “If you’re putting yourself out there, you will be subject to criticism. That’s just how it is. You have to deal with it the best that you can in a way that is healthy for you.”

On preferring going to a rave than the LA club scene: “I think you become who you surround yourself with, so I think it’s really important to have a group of friends that reflects the type of person you want to be. I’ve never been one for LA clubs. I actually despise [them] – I love a good rave. I’m like, take me to New York or Berlin and put me underground in a warehouse with lasers and smoke machines and I’ll be living my best life. That’s something that makes me who I am and allows my soul to flourish.”

On her relationship with Austin Butler: “It’s eight years this year – FaceTime, good communication, respect and trust [are what keep us going]. The longest we’ve been apart was four months. It sucks! You start hating hearing yourself say ‘I miss you.’ But if it’s your person, you make it work.”

Jenna Ortega Talks Being Discovered On Social Media

Jenna Ortega strikes a pose in black and white on the cover of A Book Of magazine!

In the issue, the 17-year-old actress opened up about her role in the second season of You, as well as how she feels about social media. Check it out:

On her role as Ellie in You season two: “At least for me, in my career, she is very contrasting from where I came from – Disney. It’s very different and is a very drastic change. She’s very real and grounded and I think that there will be a lot of people who can relate to her.”

On her take on social media: “Well I grew up in social media. That’s how I became an actress in the first place. I was discovered on Facebook. I feel like there’s definitely a lot of positive things that come from social media but I also think it’s very damaging to your mental health.”

A portion of the proceeds from Jenna Ortega‘s issue of A Book Of magazine will be donated to WE Day, and you can purchase your copy right HERE!
