The stars of Faking It are getting back together!

It was recently announced that Rita Volk, Katie Stevens, Michael J Willett, Yvette Monreal and Sophia Ali, as well as creator Carter Covington (pictured here), will reunite for the 2021 ATX Television Festival this summer.

The cast and creator will reunite just after the five year anniversary the show came to an end on MTV. Faking It aired it’s final episode May 17, 2016, after it was cancelled following three seasons.

Here’s a synopsis: After numerous failed attempts to become popular, the girls are mistakenly outed as lesbians, which launches them to instant celebrity status. Seduced by their newfound fame, Karma (Stevens) and Amy (Volk) decide to keep up their romantic ruse.

The ATX Television Festival reunion will celebrate the show’s LGBTQIA+ representation with a panel in June. The festival takes place June 10-20, 2021 and you can purchase your tickets here!

Rita Volk is coming back to television!

The former Faking It starlet has joined second season of AT&T Audience Network’s spy drama Condor, Deadline reports.

Rita is set to recur as Polina, an employee of the Russian embassy in Washington, DC who harbors secrets of her own.

In Season 2, in the wake of the death of his Uncle Bob (William Hurt), Joe Turner (Max Irons) is forced to return to the CIA’s tight-knit Virginia community to find the Russian traitor who’s responsible, and face the demons of his past.

Rita will join fellow newcomers Constance Zimmer, Toby Leonard Moore, Rose Rollins, Isidora Goreshter, Eric Johnson, Alexei Bondar and Jonathan Kells Phillips in the series.

Katie Stevens celebrated her bridal shower over the past weekend and it was attended by all her amazing friends and family – and that included her former Faking It co-stars Rita Volk and Michael J. Willett.

The three former stars of the MTV series even snapped a pic together to share on social media and we are living for it!

“feeling showered with love 💕,” she simply captioned the pic with Rita and Michael sandwiching her in the middle.

Katie added with a full group shot earlier, “I have the best friends ❤️ thank you @imthekatie and @soniayoungstyle for throwing me the best LA bridal shower 🌸👰🏻 and for all my friends who attended! (some not pictured) I love you all so much!”

Faking It has been over for over a year and no, JJJ still isn’t over it.

Katie Stevens is one of the stars who opened up about what it felt like when the show was cancelled, and now Rita Volk, who played Amy, is doing the same.

Speaking with Clevver, Rita shared that when the show was cancelled it was “scary and it’s depressing. There were definitely a few moments where I was like, ‘Okay, well, what now?’ Because you book something like that and you’re working consistently and that show ran for three seasons so it was all that we all knew…”

For Rita, personally, she went through “a dry spell,” she calls it. “But then you feel bad complaining about it because it’s not anything that any actor hasn’t gone through. It’s just the life of an actor.”

She adds that the impact the show had was something she was touched by.

“One girl – I mean, not just one girl – but one I remember was, ‘I came out to my mom while watching your show,’ and that was beautiful,” she remembers. “That was amazing. None of us predicted that we would have that sort of impact, so I think the pressure was just in doing this group of people and community right and portraying the subject matter in the most authentic way that we possibly could.”

So, where does Rita think Amy is now? With Karma perhaps?

“I definitely see her as someone who goes on to college and really finds her group and is able to live her life and no one cares, which, is a good thing, that she can just be who she is just like any other college student today,” Rita says.

Or, “Maybe she’s out there in – I don’t know – Peru making some sort of documentary about some sort of weird animal species or whatever. I don’t know. Something weird, but that’s probably where she is right now.”

The Karmy reunion we’ve all been waiting for has finally happened!

Katie Stevens and Rita Volk reunited over the weekend and Katie snapped a pic for all the Faking It fans just to prove it.

“She’s alive,” Katie jokingly captioned the pic with her and Rita, who doesn’t have any social media accounts.

Katie and Rita starred in MTV’s short-lived show, Faking It, as Karma and Amy, two super-close BFFs who are outed as lesbians to get in with the popular crowd.

If you missed it, Katie recently revealed how she felt when the show was cancelled.

That’s it — Faking It is officially over and JJJ is still not okay with it.

Especially now that showrunner Carter Covington has dreamt up this awesome season four!

“It was always my intention to make ‘Karmy’ happen during our final season. Karma would finally realize that her possessiveness of Amy might be a sign of deeper feelings for her best friend. She’d struggle to share these feelings with Amy, knowing she couldn’t lead Amy on again unless she was sure,” he wrote in a letter on THR. “Unable to let another chance go by, Karma would impetuously kiss Amy, and a fresh ‘Whoa �’/'I know �’ moment would spark this new phase of their relationship. If this makes you deliriously happy, then please stop reading and let this be the ending in your mind.”

He continued, “How satisfying it would have been to finally see Karma and Amy as a true couple! There would have been lots of kisses, none of them dreams! But slowly it would have become clear that in becoming a couple, the two of them had lost something that made them � them. Eventually, they would both realize they’d have to sacrifice their relationship to save their friendship. The series would have ended with Karma and Amy’s life goals intact: roommates in college, houses next door to each other, best friends forever. That is what Karmy always meant to me.”

Rita Volk hits the stage to answer questions during a Faking It screening at the Los Angeles LGBT Center on on Monday (May 2) in Hollywood.

The 25-year-old actress was joined by her co-stars Michael J. Willett and Elliot Fletcher, as well as creator Carter Covington.

In case you didn’t know, Elliot recently just booked a gig on The Fosters‘ upcoming fourth season too! He will make his debut in the July 11 episode, according to THR.
