It was just announced that Sadie Stanley and The Goldbergs‘ Sean Giambrone will star as Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable in the upcoming live action DCOM.
The upcoming movie comes 16 years after the popular high school hero made her debut on the network, becoming a global hit and then going on to have two successful movies.
If you need a refresher, Kim is a typical high school girl who, in her spare time, saves the world from evil villains, along with her best friend Ron, his naked mole rat Rufus and tech genius Wade.
The live-action Kim Possible movie will debut in 2019.
The actress plays Jackie, Adam’s girlfriend in the show — and did you know that she was based off a real person?
Creator Adam Goldberg told EW that Jackie was actually based off the woman who plays her mother in the show.
“A lot of the stories this year center around Adam and his girlfriend Jackie, who’s a real person – she’s actually an actor who played [Jackie's] mom last year and is going to be recurring playing her TV mom, which is so wild,” he said. “I actually met the real Jackie in theater camp. Back then, to find someone with your interests was so rare. This was like a legitimate ’80s girl geek, so we’re calling it ‘nerd love.’”
For the ep, the real Adam says that it might tear Jackie and Adam’s relationship apart.
“She’s a Trekkie and he’s a major Star Wars kid and it tears their relationship apart. I’m very proud of that story. It rings very true for me.”
Jackie and Adam are quickly becoming one of our favorite on-screen couples — we mean, why aren’t they yours?
However, it could all change in tonight’s episode of The Goldbergs because of Adam’s siblings Erica and Barry, and the school yearbook.
In the ep, “Jedi Master Adam Skywalker,” as the school year comes to a close, Barry and Erica wonder what they’ll be voted for in the yearbook and pressure Adam who’s on staff to see the rough layout before it goes to print.
But when they accidentally delete it, mass panic ensues and messes up Adam’s (Sean Giambrone) relationship with Jackie (Rowan Blanchard).
If Erica (Hayley Orrantia) and Barry (Troy Gentile) are the cause of a Jackie and Adam possible breakup, we are never forgiving them!
