Netflix is gearing up to spend more time in the ’90s after announcing plans to renew That ’90s Show for a second season!
The spin-off series from the classic That ’70s Show debuted last month to warm reviews and rapidly launched into the streamer’s weekly Top 10 chart.
The metrics were so strong that Netflix confirmed the series would be renewed on Friday (February 3).

The new That ’70s Show sequel series dropped it’s first season on January 19th and hit the top 10 in 35 countries across the world.

That ’90s Show is out now on Netflix and people are loving it!
The new sequel series to That ’70s Show, at the time of this post, is the No 1 trending show on the streaming service.
In the show, it’s 1995 and Leia Forman is desperate for some adventure in her life or at least a best friend who isn’t her dad. When she arrives in Point Place to visit her grandparents, Red and Kitty, Leia finds what she’s looking for right next door when she meets the dynamic and rebellious Gwen.
With the help of Gwen’s friends, including her lovable brother Nate, his smart, laser-focused girlfriend Nikki, the sarcastic and insightful Ozzie, and the charming Jay, Leia realizes adventure could happen there just like it did for her parents all those years ago.
Excited to reinvent herself, she convinces her parents to let her stay for the summer. With a basement full of teens again, Kitty is happy the Forman house is now a home for a new generation and Red is, well…Red.
With it taking place years later, there is of course a new cast of young actors, and we’re introducing them all to you here!

That ’90s Show has premiered it’s first season on Netflix!
While the new show follows an entire new group of teenagers in the fictional Point Place, Wisconsin, several of the original stars of That ’70s Show make appearances.
The new series takes place in 1995 and follows Leia Forman, daughter of Eric and Donna, who is visiting her grandparents for the summer, where she bonds with a new generation of Point Place kids under the watchful eye of Kitty and the stern glare of Red. Sex, drugs and rock ’n roll never dies, it just changes clothes.

The new young stars of That ’90s Show join returning stars Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith on the black carpet at the premiere of their new show on Thursday (January 12) at the Tudum Screening Room in Los Angeles.
From left to right, Maxwell Acee Donovan, Ashley Aufderheide, Callie Haverda, Sam Morelos, Reyn Doi and Mace Coronel make up the new stars of the upcoming Netflix sequel series.
Also joining at the premiere were original That ’70s show stars Laura Prepon, Wilmer Valderrama, Tommy Chong and Don Stark, who will all be making guest star appearances, as well as Olivia Sanabia, who will be in the show as well.

Previously, several of the original ’70s Show stars have been confirmed to be returning, including of course Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp as Red and Kitty Foreman.

The decade-hopping series – a sequel to That ’70s Show – is coming to Netflix in 2023 and features familiar faces such as Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis and Debra Jo Rupp alongside franchise newcomers such as Callie Haverda and Maxwell Donovan.
