Yara Shahidi and Marcus Scribner have an early morning at Good Morning America on Wednesday (July 20) in New York City.
The on-screen siblings were on the morning show to chat about the new season of grown-ish, which premieres that same night on Freeform.
While on GMA, Yara dished how she’s been trying to get Marcus to move over to the show since the first season.

grown-ish returns for it’s fifth season TONIGHT (July 20) on Freeform!
While the hit comedy and black-ish spinoff is back, not all of the show’s stars will be returning for the new season.
If you recall, at the end of season four, which featured most of the characters graduating, a lot of them were heading off on their different life paths.
Now, the new season is bringing in Marcus Scribner‘s Junior as he begins his college journey at Cal U.
While much of the cast is not coming back, some are.

In the upcoming season, Zoey (Yara Shahidi) and the gang enjoy life post-graduation while Junior (Marcus Scribner) and a new crew steps in to Cal U.
The trailer introduces fans to quite a few new faces and characters, and also brings back some familiar faces like Francia Raisa as Ana, Jordan Buhat as Vivek and Emily Arlook as Nomi. Francia and Jordan can even be seen holding hands in the trailer, so it looks like Ana and Vivek’s romance has heated up.

The cast of grown-ish season five has been revealed!
As you may know, much of the cast from the last four seasons will not be returning, with only a few coming back.
Returning cast members include Yara Shahidi as Zoey Johnson, Trevor Jackson as Aaron Jackson and Diggy Simmons as Doug, as well as Marcus Scribner, who joins the cast full time as a series regular as Andre “Junior” Johnson Jr.
Now, we are getting more info on who will be joining the show for the upcoming season on Freeform.
In the season premiere, “This Is What You Came For,” Zoey returns to Cal U to support Junior’s first day on campus but soon realizes that she may be missing her Cal U days more than she let on. After meeting his new classmates, Junior seeks to escape dorm life by attending Doug’s White Party.

The cast of black-ish are sharing their love with fans!
The series is coming to an end TONIGHT (April 19) after eight seasons and 175 episodes on ABC.
At a recent event celebrating the series finale, the stars expressed their thanks and love for the support over the years in a new video.

Yara Shahidi is speaking out about the casting shake-ups for the upcoming fifth season of grown-ish!
If you didn’t know, several stars from the Freeform series will not be returning, and black-ish‘s Marcus Scribner will be joining as a series regular.
In an interview earlier this week, Yara, who is also an executive producer on the show, dished on the grown-ish cast exiting.

The ABC comedy series will come to an end after it’s current eighth season and the network has announced the date for the final episode.
