This OG 'High School Musical' Cast Member Made a Surprise Cameo On 'High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' This Week!

The cast of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series pose for a group photo with an original HSM cast member!

At the center of the photo is none other than Kaycee Stroh, who played dance-loving bookworm Martha Cox in the original film trilogy. Check her out in the “Status Quo” number right here.

Kaycee made a surprise cameo at the end of the “Truth, Justice and Songs In Our Key” musical number in episode six, which was released today (December 13).

“Remember that whole “No original cast” thang?! Well… RULES WERE MEANT TO BE BROKEN PEOPLE 🤣 Hope you are watching #hsmtmts if not please check in on this weeks episode 6. Love you forever #wildcats 🎉,” she wrote on Instagram.

“I was approached in early April to make a special cameo appearance on the new series. It’s a delicate thing revisiting something that fans consider ‘a classic’ and ‘untouchable,’ but after reading through the script, I knew that this was finally the right concept that the die-hard Wildcat fans might be more open to,” Kaycee shared with ET. “I had chills and wrote my manager immediately.”

“When I walked back into East High, I was overcome with emotions. So many of my formative years were spent working there in those halls, my big break came over there on that cafeteria table, lots of blood sweat and tears (literally) on that stage!” she added. “I actually had to pause and take a moment to collect myself.”

“[Creator] Tim Federle, [the] writer [and] producer, and the new cast bring a whole new love and light to the series but the overall message remains the same. Although we are all so different, we can still love and appreciate each other. ‘We’re all in this together,’ right?!” Kaycee continued. “I believe that message is timeless. I am happy to pass the baton on to these new characters, and I have complete trust that they will continue to teach a new generation how wonderful and important that message truly is!”

'High School Musical' Stars Monique Coleman and Lucas Grabeel Would Be Up For THAT Movie Reunion

'High School Musical' Stars Monique Coleman and Lucas Grabeel Would Be Up For THAT Movie Reunion

Last month, the internet lost it when a fan-made High School Musical trailer made its way online again.

The visual saw the core six Wildcats reunite in many different ways and had us all screaming at our screens and shooting off emails to Disney to make THIS movie asap — and it looks like at least three of the stars of the first three movies would be up for it.

KayCee Stroh was one of the first to share the trailer on Twitter, so she’s in.

And so is Lucas Grabeel: “Yeah, I saw it. Kenny Ortega tweeted it and I watched it. It’s great,” he told J-14.

Lucas added, “Yeah, of course. If Disney calls, my door is always open. We work well together.”

Monique Coleman, aka Taylor McKessie, would be in too.

“Honestly, I would do that movie!” she shared with AfterBuzz in a recent interview.

We all know that director Kenny Ortega is in, too. He did say he’d return to direct if Disney offered.

So, for that movie, would Ashley Tisdale, Vanessa Hudgens, Corbin Bleu, and Zac Efron be in too?

This Mini 'High School Musical' Reunion Will Give You All of the Feels

This Mini 'High School Musical' Reunion Will Give You All of the Feels

It has been more than a decade since High School Musical first blessed our screens, but it will never be forgotten — and former cast member KayCee Stroh knows that as well as anyone.

KayCee (Martha) played the academic who loved hip-hop in the series, and she met up with Lucas Grabeel (Ryan) and Coach Bolton – we mean, Bart Johnson – on set of their new movie, Little Women.

“I needed a little bit of #coaching and some #Awesomeness today so,” she captioned a totally sweet photo with Bart, “Ugh, I just love this talented, sweet, energetic big guy…so much!”

Aww! She also stumbled into Lucas on-set, and penned an equally heartwarming caption to their reunion pic.

“Guess who else just happened to be working on the @littlewomenmovie set yesterday!? Double bonus! So happy I scored a quick little catch up with this sweet and talented friend of mine. Can’t wait to see how stunning his work will be in this project, as always.”

Skyler Johnson, who played young Troy in High School Musical 3, is going to college soon, and we have no idea where the time has gone.

Thank you KayCee for the throwback — our heads are still in the game.

The two High School Musical actresses, along with Kaycee‘s husband Ben Higginson, swung by their “alma mater” just days after the 10 Year Anniversary of High School Musical.

“We have no idea what is going to happen,” Monique shared in the video. “We might be breaking laws.”

“Especially since school is in session,” Kaycee added.

Once a Wildcat, Always a Wildcat…

Monique Coleman and Kaycee Stroh lent their support to former High School Musical co-star Alyson Reed earlier this week at Le Conte Middle School in Los Angeles.

“Alyson Reed aka #MsDarbus is the new industry liaison for the LA Unified School District! She’s heading up a program called ‘Studio Adopt A School’ SAAS–which will bring state of the art resources and opportunities to schools all across the city!” Monique, 34, shared on Instagram with a pic of the trio.

She continued, “This is SO important considering how much funding has been cut from arts programs. @kaycstroh & I surprised the students at Le Conte Middle School to support the launch of this amazing program. We have to BE the change! #artseducation #uniteforchange #anotherwildcatreunion ????”

Kaycee added, “Had so much fun with @_moniquecoleman supporting #alysonreed aka #msdarbus & the amazing SAAS program! ???? #LAUSDArts @SBronsonStudios #hsm.”
