In tomorrow night’s episode “Uprising,” when news of the school’s closing spreads throughout campus, Daphne (Katie Leclerc) leads the students of Carlton School for the Deaf in arranging a demonstration to take place on the eve of the Romeo and Juliet play, in which Daphne has the lead role.
Meanwhile, as one of a handful of hearing students in the school, Bay’s (Vanessa Marano) attempt to be part of the campaign is challenged.
The storyline was inspired by the real-life “Deaf President Now” protests at Gallaudet University that took place 25 years ago this month.

In “Tight Rope Walker,” Daphne (Leclerc) feels torn when the deaf students at Carlton rally the school board to prevent even more hearing kids from attending through the pilot program.
Meanwhile, Bay (Vanessa Marano) questions Regina’s (Constance Marie) behavior, Daphne gets the lead in the play and Toby (Lucas Grabeel) grows closer to Elisa (Zoey Deutch).

Meanwhile, Regina (Constance Marie) butts heads with John (D.W. Moffatt) and Kathryn (Lea Thompson) over how to handle the situation with Daphne (Leclerc) and the food truck.
