Alyson Stoner Says She Was Made Fun of For Reading On-Set as a Kid
Alyson Stoner is a talented triple-threat dancer, actress, and singer, but even she struggled with embracing who she was when she was a kid.
“Reading Aristotle & feeling thankful I’m no longer ashamed that I yearn for quiet growth/knowledge,” the 23-year-old singer tweeted Monday morning (July 24), “even if it’s not trendy/conducive 2 fame.”

She then opened up about what it was like being the odd-kid-out when she was younger.
“I was often the kid on set who wanted to read between takes, ask the crew how they did their jobs,” she continued, “My peers often mocked me and just partied. I feel lucky that I got to see the world through so many lenses. What a fortune. BTW, partying isn’t bad! But neither are books.”
She’s totally right! It’s refreshing to hear that even for celebrities, it’s difficult to come into who you are and embrace being yourself.
