Xolo Maridueña Becomes a Superhero in 'Blue Beetle' Trailer, Harvey Guillen's Role Revealed - Watch Now!

Xolo Maridueña is starring in the first trailer and first official look at his upcoming new DC Comics movie Blue Beetle!

The 21-year-old Cobra Kai star takes on the title role of Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle in the superhero flick.

JJJ debuted the first set photos nearly a year ago, in May 2022, followed by the movie wrapping filming in July.

Here’s a synopsis: Recent college grad Jamie Reyes returns home full of aspirations for his future, only to find that home is not quite as he left it. As he searches to find his purpose in the world, fate intervenes when Jaime unexpectedly finds himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology: the Scarab. When the Scarab suddenly chooses Jaime to be its symbiotic host, he is bestowed with an incredible suit of armor capable of extraordinary and unpredictable powers, forever changing his destiny as he becomes the Super Hero BLUE BEETLE.

Also starring in the movie are Adriana Barraza as Jaime’s grandmother, Nana, Damían Alcázar as his father, Elpidia Carrillo as his mother, Bruna Marquezine as Jenny Kord, Raoul Max Trujillo as Carapax, Susan Sarandon as Victoria Kord, George Lopez as Jaime’s Uncle Rudy, Belissa Escobedo as Jaime’s sister, Milagro, and Harvey Guillén as Dr. Sanchez.

Harvey was previously revealed to be in talks for a “major role,” but no other details were revealed.

Angel Manuel Soto directs, with a script by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer.

Blue Beetle hits theaters on August 18th!
