'Frozen' Writer & Director Jennifer Lee Reveals She's Not As Involved in 'Frozen 3'
Jennifer Lee is not leading the creative on the upcoming third Frozen film!
The Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios Chief recently opened up about the new movie that’s in the works, and her lack of involvement in it.
If you didn’t know, Jennifer co-wrote, co-directed and produced both Frozen movies.

“I can’t say where we are [with Frozen 3]. All our stories are driven by the artists in the studio. Where we’re going with Frozen did not come from me. It came from an incredible person. That’s a new piece, I’ve told no one. And I’ve been blown away by it and I’m just having a blast with that team,” she told The Wrap at the 2023 Annecy International Animation Film Festival.
While she’s not writing and directing the third film in the franchise, she will be taking on “some type of advisory or mentor capacity” on the movie.
“I’m doing what I do with all the other projects,” Jennifer clarified. “It’s really fun on Frozen…,’cause we’ve lived the world for awhile together and a lot of the artists in the studio grew up with that film too, both of them, and have been there the whole way… They kinda own them as much as anyone else.”
Currently, Jennifer served as a screenwriter on the upcoming Disney movie Wish!
If you missed it, late last year Jennifer revealed that she almost cut a fan favorite character from the first Frozen movie.
Did you know there’s a Frozen-themed land opening at a Disney theme park this year?!
