Lindsay Arnold Dishes On Rehearsals With Corbin Bleu & Jordan Fisher For Tonight's DWTS Trio Dance (Exclusive)

Lindsay Arnold possibly had her arms full this past week with not only teaching two dances to Jordan Fisher, but she also had to add in another dancer !

The Dancing With The Stars pro opened up in her exclusive blog for JJJ about her time management with both Jordan and Corbin Bleu this week.

“We have a lot this week…The way I like to make it work is splitting the time equally between both dances and make sure that both Jordan and Corbin feel equally as good about their performance,” she says. “I don’t ever want it to be like ‘Oh, this one is good’ and then ‘This one is eh’.”

Lindsay adds, “We’re going to have to put the same amount of time into each of the dances and also, we don’t always have Corbin in our rehearsal and it’s important that any time we get with him, we are taking advantage of that. He and Jordan have to dance in sync as well, and a lot of that’s going to be matching their movements.”

“For me, I’ve never danced with Corbin either…I’ve seen him dance but it’s different when you’re doing it in real life. I too, have to learn the way he moves best and try to match those guys together and find moves that they both look great doing.”

For their trio dance, Lindsay, Jordan and Corbin will be performing a salsa — and we can’t wait to see it!

Check back with JJJ later tonight for all the performances!

DWTS Pro Lindsay Arnold Says All The Pros Help Each Other Out Behind The Scenes (Exclusive)

DWTS Pro Lindsay Arnold Says All The Pros Help Each Other Out Behind The Scenes (Exclusive)

Many pros on Dancing With The Stars will set the record straight on this: They All Get Along.

There is no rivalry, or wanting to take the other out, just because of the competition — and Lindsay Arnold is saying it again.

JJJ chatted with Lindsay earlier this week and she revealed that the “rivalries” still don’t exist and any time she’s able to perform with her fellow pros is one of the best things about her job.

“It’s exactly the way that people are seeing,” she says about their relationships. “We all truly do get along and we all work together.”

Lindsay adds, “The biggest thing that we recognize is that we’re all in it at the same time and all going through the same struggle and same stresses. As mucha s we can ease each others’ burdens, we do that.”

In fact, what you’re not seeing most of the time is the pros helping each other out, a thing that Alan Bersten touched on earlier this season too.

“We all work together and there are times when one might be pulling more than the other to help each other out and that’s how it goes,” Lindsay says. “We understand each other. We’ve all been doing this for a long time and yes, we all want to win, but we all understand how hard this competition is and we want to be there for each other as much as possible.”

Lindsay Arnold Researched Corbin Bleu's Old Dances Right After Performing on 'DWTS' (Exclusive)

Lindsay Arnold Researched Corbin Bleu's Old Dances Right After Performing on 'DWTS' (Exclusive)

Lindsay Arnold and Jordan Fisher just had their first rehearsal with Corbin Bleu!

Team Fish Upon a Star hit the dance floor running with their planned trio dance, which is a Salsa, for the upcoming Dancing With The Stars show.

Speaking with Lindsay this week, she told us that as soon as she found out that Corbin was their trio partner, she was in research mode.

“I was online watching his dances,” almost the minute after the show ended on Monday.

Lindsay adds, “Seeing the way he moved with Karina Smirnoff in season 17. He and Jordan are just so similar in they way they move and the way they perform.”

“That’s what we need too. We need them to look in sync and don’t want anyone to look like they are weaker than the other. We want them both to look awesome and I know we can do that.”

Stay tuned for much more about Lindsay and Jordan‘s upcoming dances soon!

Lindsay Arnold is kind of living every teen girl’s (or former teen girl’s) dream right now — because she’s not only performing with Teen Beach Movie‘s Seacat every week on Dancing With The Stars, now she’s dancing with Chad Danforth from HSM too!

JJJ caught up with the pro dancer after an amazing Halloween night performance and we chatted all about adding Corbin Bleu to her partnership with Jordan Fisher for their trio dance this coming week.

“I’m really looking forward to it,” she told us. “Two dances is tough and this time it’s not like one dance and team dance where you have other people kind of helping, it’s two dances where Jordan and I are going to be dancing full out the entire time.”

“Then, we’re adding another celeb into the mix, which is exciting because it’s Corbin, and I could not be happier that he’s joining us for the trio dance,” Lindsay adds. “It’s going to be incredible energy in the rehearsal studio but at the same time, it’s a challenge because I have two celebs who have to look in sync and keep up to the bar that I’m going to ask them to set. It’s exciting and a lot of pressure, but if anyone can do it, Jordan and Corbin can.”

Lindsay also says that Jordan and Corbin‘s friendship is only going to help their partnership on the dance floor.

“It’s very fun because we got to hang with Corbin a bit since he was at Monday’s show. They are very good friends and have known each other for a very long time. This is one of those times where this is going to be their first time working together, even though they’ve done so many things that are similar,” she shared with us. “I’m excited that the first thing that they get to do together in their careers is DWTS and I get to be a part of that moment.”

“They have a great bond and are very similar in their personalities — I feel like I’m just going to be watching their friendship in the studio and wondering if they really are the same person (laughs). I’m excited to see their energy in the room together because I know they both want to do well and it’s going to push us to be even better.”

For their trio performance, Team Fish Upon a Star and Corbin will be dancing a salsa; and for their solo performance, Jordan and Lindsay will perform a quickstep.

DWTS' Lindsay Arnold Might Be The Biggest Shania Twain Fan Girl (Exclusive)

DWTS' Lindsay Arnold Might Be The Biggest Shania Twain Fan Girl (Exclusive)

Lindsay Arnold is a huge Shania Twain fan — so big that she let out the biggest scream during a dress rehearsal when she heard the news.

“We’re really excited about having her as a guest judge,” she shared with JJJ before correcting herself. “When I say ‘we’, I really mean me. I’m sure Jordan is excited about it too, but I geeked out in dress rehearsal on Sunday when they announced that.”

Lindsay adds, “I seriously screamed her name. I had a freak out over it! I love her so much and I’m really looking forward to having her judge next week.”

Since Lindsay shared her obsession with JJJ, we had to ask about her favorite songs.

“I was so young, but ‘Still the One’ was my song,” Lindsay says. “I remember listening to it on my CD player when I was a kid and I would play it over and over again. I even had a little book where I would write down the lyrics and then rewind because I missed a lyric and write it down again. It was my book of Shania Twain songs…she’s amazing. I love her.”

So cute!

This Is Where Lindsay Arnold Finds Her Choreography Inspiration For DWTS (Exclusive)

This Is Where Lindsay Arnold Finds Her Choreography Inspiration For DWTS (Exclusive)

One of the big things about being a pro dancer on Dancing With The Stars is that you’re each season, you’re having to reinvent the dances on the show.

Your cha-cha from season 8 can’t be the same one you’re doing in season 20, and Lindsay Arnold definitely knows that.

In our latest “Inside The Life of a DWTS Pro” series, Lindsay opens up about how she betters herself as a pro in between seasons.

“It’s actually really interesting for me with that because most of my growth comes from being in the rehearsal space with my celebrity,” she says. “Growing up, I trained and it was hours and hours on end to train for one dance. You’d think that with choreography…I’m sure it works for others that way that they need to train that way and practice choreography. For me, being in that room, under the gun and under the pressure — that’s when I find I grow the most.”

Lindsay continues, “Being under that pressure, things happen and I make those decisions which end up being really awesome. I think it’s different for everyone, but for me all of my learning have come from the different experiences with all of my partners.”

“It’s never been similar every season, no one partner has been like the other and season after season and week after week, I’m adjusting to my partner’s abilities and think of new ways to do a cha cha. How many times can you choreograph a cha cha? You have to make it look different and that’s where the challenge comes and where I’ve grown.”

“You have to step outside the box and trying new things, adjusting to my partner and personality and abilities. That’s where I’ve grown the most as a choreographer.”

JJJ asked Lindsay about seeking outside help and even taking additional dance classes to help her. While that may be useful for other pros, with her it’s different.

“Training and getting to take a dance class is always going to be helpful for anyone, it’s just bettering your craft and renewing the things that you already know,” she says. “Unfortunately for me, I’ve just had no time to do it. During the season, every single day is mapped out and then there’s the tours to add in.”

“That being said though, while I was growing up, I was doing extensive amount of training. I’ve learned all those basics and sometimes its nice to go back and review.

Lindsay adds, “Being on the show and teaching someone else, I’m also reminded of the things that I know. I’ll have little moments where I’ll be like ‘wow, I forgot I knew how to do that’. I remind myself what I’ve learned by teaching it to someone else.”

Lindsay Arnold Talks About Working With Jordan Fisher's Past Injuries on DWTS (Exclusive)

Lindsay Arnold Talks About Working With Jordan Fisher's Past Injuries on DWTS (Exclusive)

Who else remembers that Jordan Fisher was once in training to be an Olympic gymnast? We definitely do!

Because of that, the Dancing With The Stars celeb has some past injuries that pro partner Lindsay Arnold has to work around.

“Jordan has a lot of things going on as far as past injuries,” Lindsay told JJJ earlier this week. “His right shoulder had always had problems.”

She continues, “It is an issue when it comes to partnering because you’re using your arms and it’s the guy’s job to lead the girl, so I’m avoiding anything that has to do with weight bearing with the right arm.”

“That’s actually hard to do and I’m always thinking about it,” Lindsay confesses, as she’s always thinking about the next dance with her partner.

“When I’m choreographing, I’m always considering that and thinking about a turn and ‘oh, we can’t do that because of his shoulder’, and it’s something that hurts him,” she says. “It’s a thing we do work around because that’s a big thing for this competition.”

Lindsay adds, “If your body can’t get through it, there’s not any other option. You have to have a healthy body and be able to do the things that you need to do.”

Jordan‘s past injuries, and his perfectionist ways are the biggest challenges for Team Fish Upon a Star right now.

“He wants to be good at every single thing that he does,” Lindsay tells us. “I think that is for sure why he’s so successful in his career, but it’s also a big thing to kind of overcome; because being perfect all the time is impossible.”

“When you put that pressure on yourself, it takes its toll. Beyond that, he’s doing well in the competition and those questions about how it is easy for him because he’s a natural performer. But it’s not easy and he’s working extremely hard every week. That’s the reason he’s doing so well, is because he pushes himself.”
