April (Italia Ricci) looks like she’s having a little too much fun at her bachelorette party in this new still from Chasing Life.
In “The Domino Effect”, as the wedding date draws near, April is forced to face a list of “lasts,” such as her last week of living at home and her last time being a single girl. While her natural instincts are to have a classy and low-key bachelorette party, Vanessa (Krysta Rodriguez) helps April realize that this might be her last time to live it up.
Another possible “last” opportunity presents itself for April when Dominic (Richard Brancatisano) sets up a meeting for April with his book agent. With her health still in question, this opportunity may be April’s first (and last) chance to get a book published.
Jessica Meraz shows some leg in this new feature for the March 2015 issue of NKD magazine.
The Chasing Life actress opened up to the glossy about the show and the impact it’s had. Check it:
On how she started acting: “I started doing theater at 7. I did theater all of my life, and then my junior year I went to camp out here [in California] for the summer, and then I came out here for college at USC.”
On Chasing Life: “It was tackling such a serious issue while having all of these really funny parts. It was such an entertaining script. I remember finishing the pilot, before my character was even part of it, and it was just a script that, even just from reading it, really moved you, and it was funny at the same time. It’s a really well-written show, Joni [Lefkowitz] and Susanna [Fogel] are bad ass writers. They wrote a play before that I had read and another really good script.”
On what she’s learned from the show: “I’ve learned how cancer affects everybody. It gives another level to the show, that we’re not just entertaining but we can also use it as a platform to let people know that they’re not alone, especially if they are a young adult going through this. Sister relationships are complicated, and you really get to see that. It’s family and there’s going to be a lot of ups and downs. Sometimes they get to connect, and they’re really not going to see eye to eye other times.”

In the new episode, “Cancer Friends With Benefits”, while April and Leo (Scott Michael Foster) try chart new relationship waters, April and Dominic (Richard Brancatisano) spend an incredibly awkward night together covering the same event for the newspaper, and it’s clear that the pain of their breakup is still very fresh.
With Dominic’s heart on his sleeve and not knowing where she stands with Leo, will April be more confused than ever on what to do about either guy?
“Cancer Friends With Benefits” airs NEXT Monday, February 2nd @9PM ET/PT on ABC Family.
