Laine Hardy has confirmed that he has Coronavirus.
The 19-year-old American Idol season 17 winner revealed his diagnosis on Facebook on Sunday evening (June 21).
“This wasn’t what I expected on the first day of summer. My doctor confirmed I have Coronavirus, but my symptoms are mild and I’m home recovering in quarantine. Y’all stay safe & healthy!” he shared on his page.
Laine was the winner of the second season of the competition show’s ABC revival, one year after Maddie Poppe.
He’s also getting ready to releasethe acoustic versions of his songs “Ground I Grew Up On” and “Let There Be Country”.
“Y’all have shown these two songs a ton of support and it means so much to me. The 19-year-old American Idol winner, who recently celebrated his birthday, just announced his first headlining tour.
“This is huge!! Headlining my first tour and I can’t wait to see y’all! Presale tickets available tomorrow at 10am. Sign up for my email list to receive the code. Tickets on sale to the public this Friday at 10am,” he wrote on Twitter.
Laine will hit the road in November after performing a couple of shows as an opening act in October. Check out the full list of tour dates below!

The 16-year-old singer and actor took the stage during the Wango Tango Village Pre-Show on Saturday afternoon (June 1) at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif.
Just a few days ago, Laine promised fans that even more new music is on its’ way.
“When I get bored I like to make stuff like this,” he joked about his duck tape keyboard on Instagram. “Or write music haha. I have some things coming for y’all! Get ready!”
while at GMA, Laine opened up about the moment he was called as the winner.
“My mind went… blacked out. I don’t even know,” he told host Michael Strahan. “When Ryan [Seacrest] called my name, my mind blacked out and I didn’t know what to do. I just forgot everything.”
Laine also dished that the first thing he wants to do when he can, is go home, see his mom and eat her cooking.
“Now that the show is over, first thing I’m going to do is go home, see my mom. I miss my mom,” he said. “My family, my dogs, and stuff, for just a couple of days or something. Then I’m going to get straight into working on my music, getting it out to my fans.”
