Ariana Grande is celebrating being halfway through filming the upcoming much-anticipated, long-awaited Wicked movie adaptation!
The 29-year-old singer and actress will bring Glinda to the big screen in the two-parter, alongside Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba.
The cast and crew has been hard at work bringing the Broadway musical to the big screen.
On Monday (April 3), Ariana took to Instagram to share a new behind-the-scenes photo, though quite blurry, of her and her dog Toulouse on set, along with a lengthy caption, sharing how she’s feeling at the midway point.

The hit Broadway musical Wicked is currently being turned into a live-action feature film, well, actually it’s being split into two films.
With music and lyrics from Stephen Schwartz, the musical movie adaptation is based on the stage musical, as well as the book “Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West” by Gregory Maguire.
It tells the untold story of the witches of Oz, before Dorothy’s time in The Wizard of Oz. This story takes a look, according the musical’s website, “at what happened in the land of Oz – but from a different angle. There is a young woman, born with emerald-green skin – smart, fiery, misunderstood and possessing an extraordinary talent. When she meets a bubbly blonde who is exceptionally popular…”
“Their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships… until the world decides to call one good and the other wicked.”
Jon M Chu will serve as director on the project, with part one being released in theaters November 27, 2024, while part two will be out the next year in 2025.

Ariana Grande doesn’t attend many public events these days, but she made an exception to celebrate her Wicked co-star Michelle Yeoh!
The ladies were joined by Cynthia Erivo at Michelle‘s celebration of her Oscar win on Sunday night (March 26) at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park hotel in London, England.
Michelle won Best Actress at the Oscars two weeks ago for her work in the movie Everything Everywhere All at Once. She is currently playing Madame Morrible in the Wicked movies, which will be released in 2024 and 2025.
Ariana is starring as Glinda and Cynthia is taking on the role of Elphaba. Also in attendance at the party, but not pictured, were Ethan Slater, who is playing Boq, and Jon M. Chu, who is directing the movies.
“We love you so much it hurts,” Ariana wrote on Instagram Stories along with a photo of her and Cynthia with Michelle.
