Trevor Jackson has just dropped a song that everyone needs to hear.
The 20-year-old singer and actor wrote “Colours On The Ground” with his brother Iyn Jackson.
“I wrote this song after the Alton Sterling and Philando Castile shooting and with the recent unfortunate tragedies involving Terence Crutcher, Keith Lamont Scott and Terrence Sterling, I felt compelled to share the song in hopes that it sheds light on these dark times,” Trevor shared.
He added, “Using the pain and frustrations that I know a lot of us deal with fueled me to create something that I pray helps others cope with the current state of our country. We can no longer turn a blind eye…change is necessary.”
“Colours On The Ground” will be available for purchase on October 4th and all proceeds will go directly to the Black Lives Matter organization.

Trevor Jackson shows off his toned abs in this shot from the new issue of Glamoholic magazine.
The 19-year-old musician and actor chatted with the mag about his music and what’s to come.
“When I write I don’t have particular thing in my head. It’s just whatever I’m feeling. No matter what, I want to make things that are true and relatable that everyone has gone through,” Trevor explained. “I definitely want it to sound different from ‘In My Feelings.’ I want to constantly evolve.”
He added about the fan reaction to his performances, “I’ve never had any show before this where the audience knows every word to every song. It was pretty mind blowing and I’m so thankful to the fans. I worked so hard and, so many people told me I wouldn’t be successful and now we have sold out shows.”

Trevor Jackson takes over Bleu Magazine‘s newest cover.
The 19-year-old actor and singer opened up to the glossy about his new music, American Crime and more. Check it:
On where people think they know him from: “It’s the funniest thing. People who know me as an actor don’t know I sing. Then there are people who know that I sing and don’t know that I’m an actor. So now, it’s starting to come together. People are putting the name with the face and it makes sense, but I just want to give it all that I’ve got while I’m here.”
On his music: “My goal was to make an album that is not just a bunch of singles, but an album that can be listened to from top to bottom. I wanted every song to say something, to be an experience and to be a complete body of work…This whole project was basically just me coming into my own. When I got signed, I was very young. I was listening to a lot of people with a lot of opinions. I had to grow up as a man which forced me to grow up as an artist.”
On American Crime: “It was definitely hard in terms of real acting, but it pushed me. It pushed me to a different place. I had to access a completely different mental space. [My character] Kevin’s family having money had a lot to do with how he treated other people. It was never in a disrespectful kind of way, but I feel like he just wanted to do the right thing.”

Trevor Jackson poses with his beautiful American Crime co-star Angelique Rivera inside The Television Academy’s “For Your Consideration” Event at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles on Friday (May 6).
The two young actors were joined by co-stars Joey Pollari, Connor Jessup, Regina King, Felicity Huffman, Lili Taylor,Michael J. McDonald, Elvis Nolasco, and Richard Cabral.
“I don’t understand why people were running away from it,” Joey recently shared with Vanity Fair about his role on the show. “I was excited to delve into [it].”
He added, “[In one scene, my character] Eric says, ‘I’m gay but I’m not a faggot,’ which was the first time that that word was said on ABC. I was told moments before shooting. That baffles me, considering all the other words that are allowed, and some that aren’t allowed. From moment one, it seemed like it was about something so much bigger than his sexuality. It was about shame, and male aggression, and that conversation within sports. I couldn’t wait to be part of that tapestry.”
