Laura Marano Meets Up With R5 Ahead of BBMAs in Las Vegas

Laura Marano had herself another Austin & Ally reunion when she ran into Ross Lynch in Las Vegas, while at the Westwood One Backstage Lounge ahead of the Billboard Music Awards.

The two, along with his brother Rocky, posed for a few pics while promoting their music projects there.

Hostess Vanessa Hudgens was also there, along with Rachel Crow, Hailee Steinfeld, Julia Michaels, Forever in Your Mind, Los 5 and more.

Later on, Ross, Rocky and R5 were spotted hanging by the pool before dinner at Tao while Laura and her sister, Vanessa, headed to see Britney Spears in concert.

FYI: Vanessa wore a Fausto Puglisi dress.

Ross Lynch & Calum Worthy's Bromance Will Never, Ever End

Ross Lynch & Calum Worthy's Bromance Will Never, Ever End

Ross Lynch and Calum Worthy will always be the bromances of all bromances. End of story.

The former Austin & Ally co-stars have continued to support each other after their show went off the air in 2016; most recently when Calum was spotted at R5‘s concert in LA this week, wearing none other than a Ross t-shirt!

“Seeing Golden Toes in concert tonight,” Calum captioned, proudly showing off the shirt he was wearing on Instagram. (If you don’t know, Golden Toes was a nickname Dez gave to Austin on the show!)

Later on, Ross added his own Instagram post with pics of Calum: “My man crush everyday.”

Want even more proof that Calum and Ross are bros for life? Look no further!

My man crush everyday.

EXCLUSIVE: R5's Rocky & Ross Lynch Dish About What It Took For Them To Be Producers On 'New Addictions'

EXCLUSIVE: R5's Rocky & Ross Lynch Dish About What It Took For Them To Be Producers On 'New Addictions'

You hear it don’t you? R5‘s new EP, New Addictions is different — it’s better.

The reason is all because Rocky and Ross Lynch are the ones behind it all — they’re the producers.

“It feels really good to have that producer title now,” Rocky tells us. “We’ve been writing and producing music for a long time, but everyone always told us that it wasn’t good enough or it doesn’t sound like other writers and producers are sending in for us to record.”

“It was always a battle with ‘we like these songs we’re making’, but others were basically saying no,” he shared.

But things started to turn around with “If”: “[That] was the first song we finished where we are the only writers and producers on that track. We wrote, we engineered it, we recorded all the vocals, we produced it — just Ross, me and Ellington Ratliff.”

He continued, “We actually popped a bottle of champagne after I sent it into the mixer to celebrate. It was a moment that we’ve been working for, for a long time. We finally arrived there and now that we’ve broken that boundary of others not letting us do it ourselves, we got past that stage and now we are accepted as writers/producers now and can continue to do that.

“I’m excited for the next stage of doing that more and growing as a writing team and seeing where that takes us.”

R5 Announces 'New Addictions' Tour & Drops 'If' Music Video - Watch Now!

R5 are making our Friday!

The band — Ellington Ratliff and siblings Ross, Riker, Rocky, and Rydel — just dropped their brand new video for lead song “If” from their New Addictions EP.

“It’s our take on a modern love story,” Ross told JJJ about the track. “We all have social media and are all constantly on our phones looking at Instagram girls and whatnot and ‘If’ asks the question of ‘what could we be together’.”

“This is someone you’ve never ever met before and you play a whole scenario in your head where you imagine a life together.”

On top of the video, R5 also announced the first leg of their new tour!

The bassist spoke a little bit about the new music that the band is putting out and hints at even more coming out in the fall.

EXCLUSIVE: R5 Wouldn't Rule Out A Collab Album With New Beat Fund

EXCLUSIVE: R5 Wouldn't Rule Out A Collab Album With New Beat Fund

R5 and New Beat Fund have one of the best friendships ever, so it was a no brainer to have them rap on “Red Velvet”.

Ross and Rocky Lynch dished about the unplanned collaboration with JJJ, ahead of their New Addictions EP dropping.

“We were writing a completely different song with them and they wrote a rap for this one song,” Ross explains. “After we had ‘Red Velvet’ all done, we were like hey, ‘why don’t we just put that rap in there as a placeholder?’ We shopped around for other rappers to potentially take this spot, but that rap, just fit the song the best.”

He adds, “It was the cherry on top. We couldn’t have that song without that rap. The song that the rap is originally from, we’re actually completing that right now and that might be released too, with the same exact rap (laughs). It was a surprising fit.”

Rocky reveals that the rap you hear might turn up in another song too.

“The other song that we were writing with them is actually slower, so we took his exact rap take and sped it up,” he says. “It now has this cool chorus effect just by changing the time of it and it fits perfectly. It gave the rap an entirely new feel because we did that.”

“Red Velvet” is going to be one of your favorite new songs off the EP, so JJJ had to ask about future collabs with New Beat Fund, or even an entire album.

“I wouldn’t write that off!” Ross said. “We’re in the studio every day with them. It could be something like Arcade Fire, just with all of us. I would love to do that.”

Stay tuned for the album stream tonight!
