Not Everyone Made It To Riverdale's Graduation Episode, Showrunner Reveals

Tonight’s the night – the Riverdale gang is graduating!

The all new episode is the final one before the series jumps forward seven years. This ep was originally meant to be the season four finale.

Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who wrote the episode, revealed that not all of the characters made to the episode.

“Today’s a big day in #Riverdale. As excited/nervous as I was for my own high school graduation waaaay too many years ago. Somehow, this one means more. Not all of our characters survived to make it to graduation. Not all of the actors we wanted to come back were able to for various reasons (including Covid). But so grateful to everyone in this picture. And to many more who aren’t in the picture, but we’ll be seeing soon. Next stop: Seven years in the future…🚀🎢📸👀💥☠️,” he shared on Instagram, where he’s been sharing tidbits.

“All the secrets will come out; all the tears will flow,” Roberto shared the day before.

“The gang finally graduates, tonight. 🎓 a very sentimental, emotional episode for everyone who has been on this Riverdale journey with us since day 1,” Lili Reinhart shared on her social media.

“Everything changes tonight. @thecwriverdale,” KJ Apa added.

If you missed the good news, it was just announced that Riverdale has already been picked up for another season, along with many other CW shows!

Skeet Ulrich Says Goodbye To 'Riverdale' On Last Day, Co-Stars React

Skeet Ulrich Says Goodbye To 'Riverdale' On Last Day, Co-Stars React

It’s the last day for Skeet Ulrich on the set of Riverdale!

The 50-year-old actor has starred as FP Jones since the beginning, and announced his departure earlier this year.

Skeet announced he wasn’t returning to the show in season five before the pandemic hit and ended season four production early. Since they are wrapping up the season four storyline at the beginning of season five, he came back to finish off his episodes and close the chapter.

On Thursday (October 15), Skeet shared an Instagram post, revealing it was his last day of filming, and said his goodbyes.

“Goodbye Riverdale…thank you for introducing me to some lifelong friendships and so many beautiful souls. Today is my last day on set but the experience will never leave my heart ❤️ Thank you to all of you for the love and support 🙏,” he captioned a photo.

“You will be missed… Literally so sad my little bestie,” Madelaine Petsch wrote on her Instagram story while sharing his post. She also shared a video of him heading to his trailer, which you can see below!

Many other co-stars left comments on his post, even showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who left the door open for him to return, hinting that he won’t be killed off the show!

“Last day…for now! Thank you, Skeet, for everything. Don’t be a stranger, in life, nor on the show. There will always be a hook for you to hang your Serpent jacket on in Riverdale. ❤️🏆🐍🚀,” Roberto commented.

Cole Sprouse Opens Up About Skeet Ulrich's 'Riverdale' Exit

Cole Sprouse Opens Up About Skeet Ulrich's 'Riverdale' Exit

Cole Sprouse is speaking out about his Riverdale co-star Skeet Ulrich leaving the show.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Skeet would be exiting the show after the just ended season four.

In a recent interview, Cole opened up about his feelings on his co-star saying goodbye.

“I think it’s easy, as an actor, especially on a long-term project to start feeling like, creatively, you’re repeating the same motifs or, or whatever it is,” he told Variety. “But in truth, Jughead was a much more prominent character than FP was on the show. So, I don’t think I’m really qualified to talk on that because to compare and contrast our two positions is sort of fruitless.”

Skeet’s truly a second father to me, so I’m, like, ride or die for that guy,” Cole added. “So, anything that makes that guy happy is something that makes me happy.”

In case you missed it, see how fans reacted when Skeet revealed the real reason as to why he left the show.

Skeet Ulrich is revealing the real reason why he decided to quit Riverdale.

The 50-year-old actor, who played FP Jones, opened up in a recent Instagram live and didn’t hold back on why he left.

“I’m leaving Riverdale because I got bored creatively. How’s that? The most honest answer,” he said.

Fans reacted to his reasoning and some were shocked, but others weren’t surprised.

“Skeet Ulrich (Jughead’s dad) states he quit Riverdale because he got bored. Same,” one person wrote.

“When you just found out that Skeet Ulrich is leaving Riverdale,” another said.

“skeet ulrich said he left riverdale bc it was boring period period this is why i stan billy loomis,” a Twitter user said, referencing his Scream character.

“Correction- Riverdale season 5 : Skeet Ulrich leaves the series because he’s embarrassed*,” someone commented.

Skeet made the surprising announcement, along with Marisol Nichols, that he was leaving Riverdale back in February.
