'HSMTMTS' Star Julia Lester Nominated For First Tony For Broadway Debut in 'Into the Woods'

Julia Lester is officially a Tony Award nominated actress!!!!

The 23-year-old High School Musical: The Musical: The Series star just received her first nomination on Tuesday morning (May 2).

While Julia proved to be a star in the making on the Disney+ series, it all really started happening when she landed the role of Little Red Riding Hood in the revival of Into the Woods for the Encores! 2-week engagement. Then, the show was moved to Broadway, marking her debut on the Great White Way!

Julia is nominated for her role in the musical in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical category, alongside Ruthie Ann Miles (Sweeney Todd), Bonnie Milligan (Kimberly Akimbo), NaTasha Yvette Williams (Some Like It Hot) and Betsy Wolfe (& Juliet).

Her co-stars Sara Bareilles and Brian D’Arcy James also received nominations in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical and Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical categories.

Into the Woods was nominated in the Best Sound Design of a Musical, Best Direction of a Musical and Best Revival of a Musical categories as well.

Julia was also recently nominated for Outer Critics Circle Awards and Drama Desk Awards.
