Emmy Liu-Wang is all over Disney Channel this week!
The 16-year-old actress not only stars as Ivy on Raven’s Home, but she now also stars in the new Disney movie The Slumber Party, which debuted on the network on Thursday (July 27) and is now streaming on Disney+.
In The Slumber Party, Emmy plays Paige, a natural-born leader who is fiercely loyal, fearless, fun and self-assured.
The new comedy is based on the book “The Sleepover” by Jen Malone and depicts the hilarious aftermath of a sleepover birthday party hypnotism gone wrong as best friends Megan and Paige, along with soon-to-be step-sister Veronica, wake up with absolutely no memory of the night before.
Now they must retrace their steps to find missing birthday girl Anna Maria and explain why there’s a flock of baby ducks in the bathtub, what happened to Megan’s eyebrow, and why she’s wearing unattainable hottie Jake Ramirez’s signature black hoodie.

- 1. In the past 16 years, I have learned to play eight instruments, including piano, cello, guitar, ukulele, violin, recorder, xylophone and the bongos.
- 2. I absolutely LOVE to sing. I can sing all styles of music, including opera, pop, jazz, and musical theater!
- 3. I am a big fan of K-pop, and take style inspo from my favorite idols. I also learn the dances to my favorite K-pop songs in my free time.
- 4. I love working on Legos. I have a Lego collection in my basement and am always looking for more to build.
- 5. My ultimate dream role would be to play Mulan in a musical adaption.
- 6. I am a longtime lover of Broadway. If you play a Broadway song, chances are I can name the song, the show it’s from and the singer.
- 7. Speaking of Broadway, I started acting when I was in productions of The Music Man at Kennedy Center, Annie in Annie, The Wizard of Oz, and Into the Woods.
- 8. I am bilingual, Mandarin was actually the first language I learned to speak!
- 9. I was lucky enough to be invited to the White House for this year’s AANHPI celebration, where the president made opening remarks.
- 10. In the Disney original movie, “The Slumber Party”, my character Paige rides a bike in multiple scenes. I actually didn’t know how to ride a bike before this movie and learned to ride on set!
