'Percy Jackson & The Olympians' - Casting Revealed For Upcoming Disney+ Series

'Percy Jackson & The Olympians' - Casting Revealed For Upcoming Disney+ Series

A Percy Jackson and the Olympians television series is on the way!

The new adaptation was first announced to be in the works back in May 2020, with author Rick Riordan and wife Becky being very directly involved this time around, and it was officially ordered to series at Disney+ in early 2022.

Rick co-wrote the pilot and is executive producing the entire series, having a hand in the entire show, ensuring that it is a more accurate adaptation of the books, unlike the movies, which he has slammed in the past.

The upcoming series, of course, tells the fantastical story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson, who’s just coming to terms with his newfound divine powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. With help from his friends Grover and Annabeth, Percy must embark on an adventure of a lifetime to find it and restore order to Olympus.

Filming on the Percy Jackson and the Olympians wrapped filming in February 2023, and while we don’t have a release date yet (likely not until 2024!), we do know who will be playing all of the central characters.

Every Pixar Movie Ranked by Audience Scores, From Least to Most Favorite

Every Pixar Movie Ranked by Audience Scores, From Least to Most Favorite

Pixar have released 27 full-length feature films over the past 27 and a half years!

Since then, the animation studio has spawned franchises and released some fan-favorite characters that have become staples at Disney theme parks.

A little backstory – Pixar was first named in 1986 when the late Steve Jobs purchased Lucasfilm’s Computer Division from George Lucas and launched it as it’s own independent company.

Pixar then started to collaborate with Disney on CAPS, the Computer Animation Production System. The studio began releasing short films from 1986 until 1990.

In 1991, Disney and Pixar agreed to make an animated movie together, and this began work on a project, which became Toy Story.

Following the most recent release of their latest movie Elemental, we’re taking a look at each of the Pixar films and seeing how audiences feel about them, ranking them from least liked to the most popular film! (And there are quite a few ties, including a four-way tie.)

Neflix's 10 Most Popular TV Shows of All Time Changes After New Metrics Revealed - See What's Now No 1!

Neflix's 10 Most Popular TV Shows of All Time Changes After New Metrics Revealed - See What's Now No 1!

Netflix is changing up how they calculate their Top 10 lists!

The streaming service announced on Tuesday (June 20) that changes have been made after listening to criticisms.

Previously, the Top 10 and Most Popular lists were measured just by how many total hours viewed a project had. Now, they are taking into account not only the hours viewed, but how many views they gather.

The streamers new streaming metric “is a good evolution” because it is “anchored in engagement,” it makes sure that longer titles don’t get an advantage (like a 30 min episode vs a 45-60 minute episode), and it “enables third parties to compare the relative impact of movies and series — despite their different run times.”

They are also moving from monitoring a project’s first 28 days to it’s first three months (91 days) since many titles grow and gain more interest / views over time.

With the new changes has also come a change in the Top 10 Most Popular Shows of All Time on Netflix, and Stranger Things is no longer at the top!
